Their last draft because they traded a former 1st rounder they developed for half a decade into a star in the making for a 18 year old who no one knows what the potential really is? We already had the other pick.
The owner purchased the farm team. Its sucks btw and that's the part that lands on Gillis not the purchase. - boonerbuck
They had no choice, or did they in your mind? I don't like Gillis as much as you do, but what else could they do in that situation? They couldn't trade Lu because of his contract, from a previous CBA, they needed a good return for Schneider and they got one. There's only one net to fill. |

Keep hyping the bad and discrediting the good. Gillis had no part in the purchase of the farm team.... Let's continue with this. The owner could have: said no to the ballard, booth and pahlson trades. He could have said no to giving all the NTCs and trading draft picks. When we really look at it this is all on the owner. He has to sign off on the moves thus its all him!!!!
Gillis has made some horrendous moves and some good ones. I'm in the middle on him. The recent push towards drafting, developing and retooling has me more on his side. That and the fact he got a contract extension... We are stuck with him for the moment. |

Jenner is a GOOD young center . Kesler is a Great center.I want a proven young player that makes us better now.
We need scoring. - VANTEL
Kesler is a "great" center? Very good is as high as I would go. You're not going to get a youngish player unless a team is loaded with them, Flyers as an example. Brayden Schenn is the ideal return, Granlund too I suppose, but that's your upper limit I would think. Jenner has six less goals than Schenn and three more than Granlund.
Jenner is 19 years old in his first year, very good potential there, good skater with size is what we need. |

Grabner's hardly the freakin' stud everyone likes to make him out to be. He averages 14 mins a night for the lowly Islanders. He has 22 points this year. What's the big deal about losing Michael Freakin' Grabner?
MayRay has 35 points right now yet we couldn't get him out of town fast enough. He's also twice the player defensively that Grabner is.
Grabner got punted out of town cause his work ethic sucked. Same reason he got punted out of Florida. - KB3Point0
Like someone posted, Grabner would be 5th in scoring on this team with those numbers since entering the NHL with a very small cap hit. Punting scorers out of town has been a disaster actually.
Raymond was given years and years to prove himself. Grabner didnt even get a part of a rookie season to show himself so its pathetic really to punt a kid out of town based on so little. Later when our other young players struggle, one could expect you to give up on them based on these posts... but Im sure you'll be preaching giving them a chance forgetting this argument you put up.

I have no problem with Brayden Schenn coming back but he is a RFA soon isn't he? |

Schenn is a 1991 kid while Jenner is a 1993 kid…Brayden Schenn has 120 more NHL games under his belt. I fail to see the significant difference? |

I have no problem with rebuild. I don't see the Sedins Garrison Lu Hamhuis Burrows Higgins Bieksa , helping this team too much longer. I think if we kept them in place and tweaked one or two of them we wil be even farther down the rabbit hole. |

Really Schenn of Couts? Couts is awesome in his own end and is playing with worse linemates. Personally I think Schenn is over hyped. His brother is also on the team... Kind of seems like they would keep to keep Schenn... |

I'd be happy with either but Couturier is a 1992 born kid, they want no part of that |

On of them has shown the ability to be an effective NHL'er, not for a long time but nonetheless. Guess who....Guys like B.Schenn are exactly who Gillis should be targeting, not as risky as guys who haven't shown much/anythig in the NHL, but just as good upside. They'll be more costly, but the last thing we want is a bunch of "potential" for Kesler.

Christian Ehrhoff submits 8-team no-trade list to #Sabres, he has 7 teams out West and 1 out East on list, safe to say he will remain East?

But Kesler is the best. If I was to build a team around any of those players you mentioned it would be Kes. |
