True . I give them two more years and they will be back there. Once they see they gave long term contracts to people who don't deserve them.

He certainly has shown that he can't control his coaches I guess. When you have 40m invested in something, management has a say I would think. So does the board - ie ownership! Gillis is getting sht canned for this or this organisation is seriously screwed....or a trade is coming and then I will gladly have egg on my face

This was no random coaching decision. It's a calculated move to drive Luongo to "want out" & voluntarily expand his waive list ahead of Wed's TDL. My guess is they've received an enticing offer/inquiry from a team that isn't on Luongo's current short list & Gillis is playing puppetmaster (his ego is more than capable of boldly attempting to pull off such a blatant mind(frank)). You don't have to ask someone to waive their NMC (as Gillis claims he'd never do) if you can manipulate their reality to the point that they approach you to waive it.

I just have a very difficult time seeing Lou get traded.

But this whole scenario is bizarre.

The conspiracy theorist in me wants to think it means one if the goalies is on his way out.

awww is someone getting angry because i pointed out how badly the nucks are? the window closed after they lost to the bruins. if you can't accept that, then you are a homer. what does toronto have anything to do with how bad the nucks are? do you think the richest team and center of the hockey universe, cares about being bad for a decade? they have 13 cups, the franchise is valued over 1Billion dollars, they have a great young core to build around, and their period of being awful is over.

so glad i've found this thread, i hope i will find a few intelligent canuck fans. hopefully most of you aren't homers, so easy to win arguments against guys who think luongo will be traded for superstars
