Have they reduced the remaining Heritage Classic tickets any further? Last I heard they were $75.

I've always operated under the assumption that statements from the GM's must be understood within a specific time frame: We will not trade _________. 2 months later he gets traded. It was true at the time they would not trade him. Things happened they changed their mind.

Botch had an interesting thought on the whole Lou wouldn't waive his NTC comment. At the draft when Burke wanted Lou he refused to consider TO because he thought florida would make a play for him. That was the period of time in which the comment was made.

Lu claimed he never said no to any team but said he wanted to go to Florida preferably. Nonis wouldnt even give up 2 first round picks for LU(confirmed) so I hardly believe he squashed a deal to go to Toronto. It looks to me that Gillis greatly exaggerated this to cover his own ass in this mess.

Lu multiple times denied he refused anywhere at all even after Schneider was traded. Gillis played the no comment policy card after the Schneider trade that he conveniently put away previously to make those original comments. That policy meant poop when he thought he was still going to move Lu. People forget Gillis' reputation before he came to Vancouver.

I agree this franchise is a joke but didn't Lu create this situation by demanding a trade?

Kind of. He lost his starting job to Schneider, and was made a back up, but let's be honest, he is a starter. He requested a trade so he could start.

Now here we are.

The team is more interesting off the ice than on it, and that makes me sad. What a mess.
