If Gillis and Torts cant get hired after laving Vancouver, then they obviously shouldnt have been hired to begin with. If they want to sit on their ass and do nothing to get paid, then that personality should have never been hired as well.

Of course there's hindsight.

There was no guaranteed NHL talent in the proposed package.

In hindsight, Edler's value has decreased since then, and Nyquist (if he was in fact in the deal) appears to have overcome the size concerns and become a viable NHL top6 forward.

And if Nyquist wasn't in the proposed deal after all, it wasn't worth it anyway.

He had also just (or was about to) traded Schneider for complete futures, which would have made the need for legit NHL ready talent even more important.
