52/395... pretty fair sample I would say.
As somebody who defends Vinny so vociferously, I find it kind of odd that you're apparently not even sure what kind of player he is. - Tomahawk

I'm just hoping I can get out of work early enough to get home before the game starts!
Well that, and that Homer doesn't go insane and trade Coots and 2 firsts for Byfuglien! |

MacDonald is the guy I hope we can get, he's very underrated, very good 2 way player, logs a ton of minutes. |

When will people realize that Sean Couturier is going nowhere?
We didn't give him up for Weber. Do you really think we're going to give him up for anything less? |

I hope playing Vinny at LW is a way to get him to ask to be traded to a team that needs a 2C. I thought BSchenn would be good on the wing, but I must admit he's better at center.
Looking back we would have been better off signing MacArthur than Vinny. I liked the signing when he was going to be a 2C winning 50% of his faceoffs, but alas it hasn't worked out. |

Of the 52 goals in that video.
7 of the goals are from one timers from the right side.
15 are scored on shots above the dots from distance.
2 are empty net goals.
And a whopping 28, more then half the goals he scored that Season, were scored going hard to the net and around the net, below the dots around the net or in the slot.

I would be okay with giving up Couturier as part of a package for a legit number 1 dman that is also under the age of 30.
1. Weber, Pieterangelo, Doughtey , Anyone else I am forgetting that I can spell wrong?

This team is a mess...can't make one trade without opening another hole - PhillaBully
I dont get the whole "this team is a mess" talk on here. Do they have some holes? Sure they do but they are currently 3rd place in a pretty good division. I will take it, they have a good shot at the playoffs and aside from a top pairing d-man I feel pretty good about this team. |

So half the time, he's about 20-30 feet away from the net. The other half, he's hiding near the weak-side post, a la Danny B. Occasionally, he gets a breakaway or goes far-post on an odd-man chance.
Sounds just like somebody who makes their living going 'north south, going hard to the net'.
(not to mention, you forgot to count how many of those goals came from the left side) |

Vinny is not the same player he was earlier in his career......he's self admittedly lost a step and has had to adjust how he plays. After a decade and a half of wear and tear, injuries have started to mount.....that's my real concern....I hope he can continue to be a solid contributor but I am growing more and more skeptical....a banged up wrist, a banged up knee? Most can be rehabbed .....a bad back can be career crushing.....our Vinny has a lot of miles on him.....and for a lot of those miles Vinny has had a target on his back as any elite player does. |

I've never disputed that Lecavalier scored the majority of his goals from the right side. How is 15 goals scored from distance above the dots, out of 52 goals half the time? Not all of the one timers were from above the dots. The video clearly corroborated my statement on what kind of player Lecavalier is. But regardless of what he did in 06/07, it really only matters what he does for the Flyers at this point.
