I would love to see Raffl with G and Jake again.

I like the Flyers fight today so far.

Lots of moxie.

Lots of dumb, too.

Flyers are extremely fortunate to still be leading this game

they certainly are. what a horrid 2nd period. thankfully the first line is holding them in this with their incredible play shift after shift.

You have to consider Richards' alcoholism

Richards was ridiculously good in the Stanley Cup run, "the shift" was spectacular against the Habs.
- ravishingone

He was good during the regular seasons too. 80 point player who played good, two-way hockey. The problem for Richie and Carter was that they couldn't beat the Pens.

it's a typical game for them. sever bi-polar disorder. when another team pressures them with skating and a good forecheck they wilt and turn into a squirt team. it's so painful to watch.

I wouldn't call his chronic issues. Whereas, Hartnell has been known to make some questionable decisions.
- PhillySportsGuy

No doubt. The Flyers are very fortunate to get out of that period with the lead. The Rangers have somehow missed two wide open nets that seemed like sure goals. And the Flyers are having trouble handling the Rangers cycle down low. Ranger game plan is to obviously get pucks behind the Flyers defense. The Flyers coverage has been pretty good. But sooner then later if the Rangers continue to spend lots of time with the puck deep in the Flyers zone, then it will cost them.

As a side note, the Carcillo v Downie battle today has been incredibly embarrassing for the game.

If I have a complaint about chief is some times he plays an ineffective Hartnell far to often....he's terrible today......Raffl is flying.....his speed opens up ice for Giroux and Vorecek ....and boy does Luke Schenn struggle against speed...wow.

Carter and/or Briere had a difficult time matching up with Malkin. The current centers on the roster seemingly are better match-ups for the Pens dynamic duo. Of course, I'm glad Staal is no longer there helps.

Its like they get all befuddled when the Rangers get possession in the Flyers zone. Just stay in position and stop running around.

Matt Read has also made two bad cross ice passes that turned into turnovers and dangerous chances against.

the amount of chances the rangers have had buzzing through the crease with deflections, wide open shots, jam plays and cross ice feeds has been way too high. it's a normal thing to see with the flyers. their "coverage" might be pretty good as you say, but extremely ineffective.

meanwhile, captain shoulder pads is doing his taxes at the other end of the ice.

Yea. Giroux escapes a good deal of criticism because of the way he's played agains the Pens. Its like Ohio State v. Michigan. If you beat your rival, you get a little leeway

They've spent far to much time in their own end.
