Pretty promising stats for a 21 year old, though. - Fosco
Absolutely. Especially with that roster.
He would do some serious damage playing behind the twins. |

Kuemper With a Shutty last night. Thanks again bud - vancity787
No problem. And you thought I was taking advantage of you.
I'm probably gonna regret trading him to you. Especially if MIN doesn't pick up a goaltender at the TDL. Kuemper is really all they got right now and they are still in the playoffs. |

Because I have always been a Cody fan. Or are u saying one or the other has to be a franchise player. - Bieksa#3
Nope. I'm saying that Johansen is just a great young player and the stats back it up. A big center with that skill and all-around ability is a franchise player in my eyes. |

I believe there are about 20 franchise players in the league. Not 75 - Bieksa#3
I don't think Nucker was suggesting he is a franchise player.
But based on his play he could be trending in that direction.
Too early to tell.
Either way, the kid's a stud. |

Easy now.
I wasn't referring to him at all.
I know he was a fan when Samuelsson was here, but I can't recall his opinion about him since he's left.
There have been much more recent posts calling for the Canucks to get him back, and those are what I was referring to. - Fosco
Oh, ok. Booner wasn't (isn't) as pro Samuelsson as he was anti Booth in that trade, I just thought that's what you were referring to. |

Well, I guess it depends on your definition. I'd like to see him finish the season at the same level of play before saying so for sure. He looks like a lock to me right now to develop into that. |

Old, broken down player, clearly regressing. Most I'd do is a pick and B-prospect.

He said he is a franchise player I believe - Bieksa#3
He said "gonna be a franchise player for the next decade."
Pretty ambiguous whether he meant now or in the future.
But it doesn't really matter.
He's already a stud and a top-6 player at 21, whether he reaches "franchise" status or not. |

That's terrible. You heard Mackenzie talk about what Vancouver can expect in return - Bieksa#3
I don't think it is terrible.
Kesler for Stewart, Prospect (A level) and a conditional first. To make it better make that first for 2015
Lou for Halak.
We need to shed Salary and retool. This trade will give us a goalie for 3-4 seasons till Lack is comfortable as starter. We get a top 6 winger that scores and top prospect plus a 1st rd pick.
We shed 10+ mil and buy out Booth and that is close to 15 mil to sign Halak and a second line center. Don't forget we have Gaunce and Jensen to make the jump next year and Bo + Shink in 2 years. It makes sense. |

Blues fans are running Stewart out of town.
Very little value.

You need quality not quantity when dealing a kesler. That deal sets/Vancouver back big time and helps them little in the future |

I don't think Johansen is going anywhere. I'd do that deal straight up or add to Kesler for him, he's gonna be a franchise player for the next decade. - Nucker101

Of the 3 teams (DET, PIT, PHI) that are supposed to be serious, I think DET would be willing to offer up the most
I'd like to see Nyguist, Sheahan, and Mantha (or a 2015 1st rounder)
Word is out there that Kesler should net a good return. MG better not (frank) this up! |

If Kesler gets traded the Canucks would need a center in return. There is no way Schroeder can be the 2nd line center. No guarantees that Gaunce or Horvat can make the jump next year either. That is why guys like Schenn and Johanson look good right now. |

Dubinsky? Anisimov?
Gaborik just got back.
I haven't really checked, but I thought they were fairly thin up front.
EDIT: Just looked.
Yeah, their offense is decent. Johansen is clearly the best of the bunch, though.
Lots of depth guys having career years. |
