I don't think Johansen is going anywhere. I'd do that deal straight up or add to Kesler for him, he's gonna be a franchise player for the next decade.

Yup.

Not a heck of a lot. But something of value, sure.

Give your head a shake. He's far far to one dimensional to be a franchise player

I haven't researched the advanced stats to see if this is true, but one of the more reliable posters on HF claimed that Johansen has actually had harder matchups than Kesler this season.

Again, I haven't checked.

But I wouldn't call him one dimensional, whether he's elite defensively or not.

I've said this early in the season and will say it again. Johansson will never be a franchise player.A shoot 1st center who is awful in his own end.

1. He plays the toughest minutes on the team(most amount of defensive zone starts and against other top 6 lines quite a bit).

2. Despite those tough minutes, he's 3rd-best among forwards on the team in possession.

3. He's 5th on the team in terms of goals against per 60 minutes played at ES.

4. He averages 2.5 points per 60 minutes of ES this year. The highest Canuck is way behind, Chris Higgins at 2.03.

5. Oh, and he's 21 years old. Plenty of time to improve intangibles/defense.

The guy is a stud and franchise player, no doubt.

Seems like half the league has inquired about Kesler.

Posted above, I'll take the stats over the opinions on this one. He might have been below average in the past, but he' s just fine right now. He's only 21.

I believe there are about 20 franchise players in the league. Not 75

We'll have to disagree. And how again do any of those numbers make him bad defensively? Not many 21 year olds even come close to that type of play.

Easy now.

I wasn't referring to him at all.

I know he was a fan when Samuelsson was here, but I can't recall his opinion about him since he's left.

There have been much more recent posts calling for the Canucks to get him back, and those are what I was referring to.

Pretty promising stats for a 21 year old, though.
