This team was originally built to be an offense first team. Now Gillis, in all his wisdom, has taken that same team added a defense-first coach and expects them to be successful.

If you are going to fundamentally change the way they play how can you do that without rebuilding your roster?

The team has been one if the best in the league the last decade, and probably the best in the franchises history. I don't consider that mediocre, considering only one team can actually win every year.

I'm not happy about the state of this team either, but it could be much worse.

I just don't get the huge degree of complaining. Having to deal with a losing team is part of being a fan, and we haven't had to deal with a losing team that much in the last decade.

I'm not saying everything is peachy, but if we're freaking out this much because the team is only contending for a playoff spot rather than a cup, I don't want to see how it gets if the team becomes legit bottom feeder for multiple seasons.

It's been a good run, I'll accept a year or two of no playoffs if it makes us stronger in the long run. Look at Philly, very young team with a bright future should they add some pieces.

Yes from the lowest goal totals in 24 years. And as an added bonus the opposition is now scoring more goals against than the canuck are scoring themselves. That hasn't happened in 14 years.
