for

Kesler, edler and a 2nd

So #Canucks #EddieLack plays 2 games, gives up 1 goal, in SO goes to 7th round, and the Canucks still lose. Worst offense ever! Poor Lack.

This team was originally built to be an offense first team. Now Gillis, in all his wisdom, has taken that same team added a defense-first coach and expects them to be successful.

If you are going to fundamentally change the way they play how can you do that without rebuilding your roster?

Looks like there is a ton of interest in #Canucks Kesler and Edler. #RedWings #Penguins #Flyers all kicking tires.

Love to have Simmonds, he's what this team needs, but I don't see them trading their second leading scorer. Kesler for B Schenn, Laughton and a 1st I'd love to see though.

Send Edler to Detroit for Mantha and a 1st.

I still die a little inside when I remember that LA drafted Simmonds with a Vancouver pick.

Keep typing that Edler trade. If we keep hammering this, maybe it will happen.

Higgins should never have been given the contract he has now.
- bloatedmosquito

Plenty of playoff teams would take him at 2.5million for a 15-20 goal third liner, I'd trade him since he probably isn't a long-term guy here and this could be a good selling point.

It would be a shame trading away a 20 million dollar first line that can't score

Higgins is the furthest thing from the Canucks problems right now. He is a good 3rd liner. Paid as a 3rd liner and has been put on the 2nd line. Not his fault. If the Canucks could put together an actual top 6, Higgins would look great.

I was talking more about the NTC that went with it. Thinking about it, Hansen got the exact same deal. How these guys deserve a NTC is beyond me.

The guy just keeps finding ways to (frank) the team up, he added some good pieces for the Cup run but he's done absolutely nothing since then? I think he's learning on the fly that sticking with the core and handing out contracts to guys like Burrows and Higgins was a mistake.

I like Higgins for what he brings, but, we should be in sell mode.

Higgins is a tweener. He's not a good third liner and he's not a good second liner he is in between. He is what we call a Mason Raymond.

Limited NTC's, probably to save 500k on each I'm guessing. Probably just to protect them from getting traded to Edmonton, etc.

Meh, he's a solid third liner on a team where he actually gets to play that role and that already has a decent amount of big/physical players in their lineup. He's been the Canucks best even strength offensive player this year, GM's love guys who can score 15+ without needing PP time.

interesting factoid:

I was looking up stats for Trent Klatt (no idea why) and noticed that his average point total practically doubled when he left the canucks and joined the Kings in 03-04.

I always thought the twins made klatt. You learn something every day.
