I definitely don't think they make it without the additions he made, or the flexibility his great contracts allowed.

The current Blues and the 2011 were different teams, though—Vancouver didn't have a hole in their lineup like the Blues did in goal before the got Miller.

The Canucks also didn't have the disposable roster assets like Stewart and Halak, like STL had.

I'm still a huge fan of Schneider. He's awesome.

But I've followed Lack since he came to NA, and he also appears to be the real deal.

You were more confident in Lack than anybody early on. Im impressed with him. Theres not much to be happy about this season but this is comforting. Schneider never stepped in this confident and solid and we knew Cory was going to be good regardless. Lack is looking like he indeed could be better.

Ive been saying this for a while as well. Certainly this core got some of the help needed but the run was on the back of the core already here. What their potential is has already peaked. Cant rely on what Nonis and Burke did any more. Gillis cant rely on the moves he has made in his time here... its was never enough... here we are in a poopty situation now....

If Gillis trades Lou this year or next I will be impressed. He should get GM of the year if he can off load Lou after all the work Dreger did for Nonis to try and gift Lou to the Leafs for nothing.

If what dreger says impacts MG ability to deal with other GM I think we have a large problem.
