Botch, LeBrun and Friedman all sang the same tune today. Those three have the most inside info for the Canucks. Friedman and Botch both said they think Kes is being dealt. This is beyond a random Ek 'source'. The heavy weight insiders are reporting some strong stuff.
Personally I think Kes gets traded if Gillis gets exactly what he is looking for and if not they'll keep him. More of a Kes is happy to go to a contender cause he desperately wants to win and the Canucks would trade him if they get what they want to avoid becoming Calgary. - 89_hockey
I have no doubt that teams are talking about Kes but they need to bring a sweet deal or forget it. Gillis always said if the right deal comes along we will move anyone. I am not sure Kesler said something months ago about requesting a trade though.
Someone on the main blog brought up an interesting trade. Kesler for Lucic. Then I thought about Edler Kesler for Lucic Hamilton to sweeten the deal. |

This whole Kesler wanting out thing is just one idiot saying he heard something and now its spiralling out of control. I will wait to hear it from Kes or MG before I jump the gun. Until the hand thing he has probably been our best player this season. Other than Kessel he was one of the best for team USA imo. |

I'd have to agree. Friedman in particular has some really strong sources.
Did Bob Mac mention anything? |

He said teams are talking to Gillis, today , on the Sekeres show. He also said it would have to be a huge return like Johansen or forget about phoning. |

To be honest I wouldn't trade Johansen or Granlund for Kesler. Those guys are now actually showing their potential and from that point the sky is the limit. Let's put it this way, if we traded Granlund for Kesler straight up I think this team would, at the very least, not be any worse off and quite possibly even be better off immediately. |

And I wouldn't trade Kesler for a scrub like Kadri so probably nothing will get done and Kesler will remain a Canuck. |

You need to stop mentioning Kadri man. I know some trolls were tossing his name around but it's a trade that will never happen so no sense in discussing it. If Kes is on the block there will be many interested parties so I doubt it's a case of either Kadri/Ganger or Johanssen/Granlund with no other possibilities. This isn't the Luongo trade.
If Kesler's waiving his NTC it won't be for another Canadian team. I'd bet quite a bit of money on that. |

It is very unlikely he gets moved. We all know Gillis asks for the stars and is very stubborn about what he will accept. This time I don't blame him for staying pat. Only deal if it makes the Canucks better. |

Yup. In the wise words of Strombone1:
@FarhanLaljiTSN: @strombone1 on Kesler trade rumors, "Whether he wants to go or stay, he's not going anywhere. We all know how this script ends"

Dreger: "If Kesler comes to Toronto he's still a#2 C. Bozak would remain on the top line..."
Nothing like Dreger trying to drive the price down on a player the Leafs have interest in. It's so transparent, it's pathetic! |

Christ, that fiasco took you guys ages to understand. You'd argue (not you specifically) till you were blue in the face. Happy days. Toronto- Gardiner, Kadri 1st. Florida-Huberdeau, Bjustad 1st. Philly-B. Schenn/Couturier, Simmonds 1st. Oh well, water under the bridge now |

Yeah and Canucks still have two better goalies than any of those teams mentioned. We just don't have scoring. |

The season is not over yet and we are still in a playoff spot. So to be honest, I would rather see kes stay... At least until the end of the season. I don't like blowing the team up now with the chance of making the playoffs. I think we can still do something with the new coaching staff in place. If things go wrong, then Im fine with the blow up and saying goodbye to kes in the summer.
Edit: It is just a huge waste in my opinion to just waste a whole season blowing up the team when they worked hard up to this point and are still in a playoff spot. I know kes is just one player but he has big time player for us throughout his time as a canuck, and losing him would diminish any chance of doing something in the playoffs. |

Every time Gillis lets Kesler go to the Olympics there is controversy when he comes back. Gillis has to ban him next time. |

What seems more apparent is that it's taken you even longer to realize there was a strong dose of sarcasm built into so many of those trade proposals. Feeding the trolls is what we like to call it. There isn't a single goalie in the league worth the latter 2 trades you mentioned. |

No,no,no absolutely no. You're not kidding anyone. Afterwards, when it was painfully obvious Luongo couldn't/wouldn't be moved, then the sarcasm came out, sorta trying to back track. Come on man, no one will buy that. |
