Some fans and posters have hitched their wagon to Despres. It happens with all teams and prospects and they feel that anytime someone else plays ahead of the prospect they feel slighted. It happened with the Oilers and Schremp all the time.
Despres will get his time. But right now he isn't ahead of the other players according to Bylsma, Granato and Martin. Who by the way have probably forgotten more about hockey than we know. |

Just looking at that 2009 draft, there were 4 defensemen taken before him that haven't played as many games as him.
Maybe he'll get his shot here, maybe he won't.... Has he been treated unfairly? Probably, but it's not like he isn't at fault. There has been enough comments out of a usually tight organization about his shortcomings. If he did what the coaches wanted him to do, he'd be playing. Bortuzzo has proved that, he was in the press box long enough to get his mail there, but has worked his way into the lineup most nights. |

Not a bad game to watch. Very sloppy but if you didn't expect that I don't know what to say. And if boyes is a 3rd or cheaper it should have been done |

I had a dream Shero traded one of our top Young D prospects and we acquired a long term Fit for our wing...and everyone liked the move.
I Hope we are talking about a Wheeler type! |

I think the problem is that he's stuck behind other prospects and the Pens don't think highly of him (like J Morrow). Theres a reason why Maatta immediately stuck and despres has been back and forth to WBS in the last couple years. I personally think Engelland is in the lineup to showcase his ridiculous goal scoring abilities. Shero is trying to get top dollar for him |

BTW, to all of you complaining about Letang's signing (I'm not one of those) keep in mind Sid has a say in every important move this team makes. I'm pretty sure about that.
Letang is a very good STAR hockey player going through bad times now. |

I'd keep Engo for our 4th line and use him as our 8th D. |

Who's complaining? If the cap were to stay like this, then yea it would be bad, but shero knows that cap is only going up. 5 years from now some defenseman will make Letangs deal look like he's earning chump change. |

Id tag him along in a deal. Shero is one of the finest used salesman around and he could get something |

Drummer it wasn't directed to you so no need to pretend you never heard Anyone on this board complain about the deal. In the last few days it has been brought. Kicking the dog while he's down. |

Sad to say, but I think Engelland is our best 4th liner.
Adams' age is catching up to him, and Joe Vitale is just useless. I used to like Vitale, but outside of his first few shifts after being scratched for a few games, he provides nothing. |

Haha exactly. As long as there is a person called Oneonta on this board, nothing will ever be good enough |

Screw you Bartley. Sutter with a shortie. - Oneonta Penguin
HA that was a nice goal, even a turd can be shined up when scouts are in the house. |

I do think he's worth Ott straight up. Maybe a Low pick added. For a team like Buffalo, Sutter would be a Nice Young addition. |

I listened to Keslers denial of a trade request.... You can tell that guy wants out! |

Ott is a rental. You don't trade Sutter and a low pick to get a rental. That would be really dumb. Giving up Sutter for Ott solves one problem, but creates another or two problems depending on where Ott goes. Makes zero sense.

Sutter is so insanely bad that trading him for Ott is not totally insane. Sutter is gone next year anyways (I hope). Ott would be a gigantic upgrade, and if we could get a winger or 2 to fill out that bottom 6 I would feel a lot better about the playoffs. |

With Sutter gone we could use his money to re-sign Ott. They'll probably make close $$$. But anyway, Ott is not my favorite target. |
