I really wish refs were held accountable after games. There are some calls that just make you scratch your head. You want to give him a 2 minute minor, I could maybe see that...but a 5 minute major? you 4 officials on the ice, and not one of them could see that he hit himself with his own stick?

Take it with a grain of salt but Rossi said on the radio today that Despres comes off as a player that tunes the coaches out and does not appear to be trying to make their adjustments.

I know as a coach that would drive me bat sh*t crazy. Especially from a younger player.

It's Rossi though, so who knows.

Malkin is the easiest player to get off game, just whack him a couple times, seriously the whole team should just give him group beatdowns, learn how to cover the trailer in a 4 on 4 situation!

wow, the engylend hate on here is overwhelming. he has earned a spot on this team this year... despres has not. I understand being excited for a young guy and wanting him to succeed. But it over the top. Derek E has done everthing the coaches ask this year and has generally outplayed Bortz. Hell... Derek E has often outplayed Orpik. If anything the outcry should have been Bortz over Derspres. I still think Despres should be our best trade chip and a cheap 6-7 d-man picked up for insurance.

I don't get it.... Some of you are impossible. First game after almost 3 weeks off... Of course things are going to be sloppy. Have you seen the other games tonight and last night? Half of the games are like 9, 10 goal games.

And dogging Malkin, who was strong all game? I don't get the target he has on his back from fans sometimes.

Things are so good in with this team and things used to be so bad that I think people don't know what to do if they can't complain about something.

Theres this thing called "trauma re-enactment" in those that have suffered repeated emotional trauma... such as the mid 2000's. when people who have suffered trauma encounter stressful situations they fall back to familer behaviors... such as complaining. Malkin sucks is like them falling back on Rico Fata sucks. It makes them feel a little better

He has it cause the same crap happens no matter what time of year, I guess my comments were poorly timed.

Personally I do not think he sucks, he just makes colossal gaffes that kinda clash with the amazing ones he does make. I don't call them a wash, he just needs to mature.... And no he isn't alone..... 87 does too

Hopefully they can tighten things up this weekend. The hawks will eat them alive with this kind of play
