I'll head back to the Canucks board and allow you to insult other fans politely discussing trades.

Thank you kindly.

Back to realistic trades:
Crosby and Malkin for Kesler and a 3rd

He said Sutter and a non-1st pick.

Of course the package you suggest would.

But it wouldn't be attractive enough for the Canucks to trade Kesler. Not necessarily because of the value, but because they need top-6 talent, not a 3C and defense prospect.

- Fosco

I don't blame you for passing on that. I wouldn't trade our top players for something I perceive to be less than fair value.

I'd rather get Tom Sestito instead of the 3rd.

I don't know which thread is more stimulating regarding trade rumors ... this with Vancouver fans or the just as ridiculous one on HF board with Toronto fans regarding - you guessed it folks, Kulemin.

So....you DON"T want to move valuable picks and young assets that could be used to address areas of true need to upgrade the 3rd line center position?

That's crazy talk.

oh God, a proposal on HF board Van-Pitt deal for Kesler thread was just started. I think 98% of the ideas formulated on that board by posters are retarded and make zero sense.

Because it's ludicrous. You're bording on Maple Leafs overvaluing of players.

And you still haven't told me which contending team is going to sacrifice 3 significant assets for a 2nd line center.

Edit: IF he gets traded, I think fair returns would be:

A top-6 forward + 2nd + 3rd
A top prospect, a bottom-6 forward, and a 2nd
A middle prospect + 1st

I don't see any team selling half the farm for him.

- jmatchett383

Agreed with the Flyer fan... Kessler is good... he's not Teows or Ovie.

Maata and 3 1sts sound reasonable.
Might as well throw in Pouliot as well.

Ah I'm sorry. I'll get back to severely overrating Vancouver players on a TML scale while devaluing all Penguins players because they play on the same team as Sidney Crosby.

Maata, Bennett, Zatkoff, Pouliot, and 3 1sts for Kesler!!!

- jmatchett383

Throw Malkin in to and they might "think about it" after all a Two time Ross trophy winner might not fit their needs.

The episode with Zach Sill was legendary TV, I love that kind of player.
- nbartley9

Love the guy as well. Zach Sill should be up with the Big club. He deserves a spot on our 4th line.

A young top-6 (or at least top-6 potential) forward, a 1st, and another valuable asset.

There are definitely teams that will offer that.

I guess we'll have to see. I still don't think he'll be traded before the TDL.

I don't think I'm overvaluing Kesler at all. He's a beast at both ends of the ice.

If he were a rental, he'd be one of the top-3 available this season—the return you suggest isn't even enough to get one of the top rentals.

But Kesler's remaining two years at a bargain price will make him even more valuable.

- Fosco

Not happening, maybe two of the three.

He definitely fits the bill of an energy guy, and appears to be a solid character guy. This is all being based upon last night's marathon. Anyone willing to go toe to toe with #3 has my vote.

does anyone else say we trade all the ufas at the deadline for draft picks and then load up on younger guys... at some point geno, sid, fluery etc have to be looked at as the veterans on the team and start acting like it... why the pens always go after older guys to help the team when they have guys like sid and geno is beyond me.. they have seen and been through enough to use their experience for the young guys....

to bad we have a coach who prefers playing older guys over the younger ones...

engels over despres tonight wtf!!

Kesler is in my fantasy league and could use a kick in the ass. If he came the Pens I think he might score a bit more.

Did anyone watch the IN THE ROOM marathon last night on NHL network?
- nbartley9

Hell yea, best show on tv. Loved that Sill spot when he went with Brodie and was in Dion's ear all night. He gained 1 fan there.

Also really showed the value of Sutter, even though I'm not a huge fan. "Flat Stanley" really knows the defensive system.

Kesler >>>>Staal love the idea, just don't think we have what they would want.

Not sure why anyone in the league would want Brittle Beau Bennett. Probably never had a healthy season as a kid.

Ridiculous, however I'm not the least bit surprised Engo is playing over Despres.

I guess I'm in the small minority here that wants no part of bringing in more old guys like Kessler. In no way do I trade Pouliot since it appears Despres won't ever get a real shot here.
