Could have, should have, would have...........typical bettman

Well, now that "Bettman" is the only one with the power to nix trades, you'd better hope he looks kindly on any deals you plan to make

Interesting graphic was posted on HF... The fate of first round draft picks that sellers get at the deadline.

I think about 4 or 5 times at least this year....

Someone made me a sweet offer and by the time I seen it, it was vetoed.

Yeah, I probably should have got rid of it earlier, but I've never been in a pool where it was abused like this.

Consider it gone.

Not that it will help much this close to the deadline.

The frequent player movement—spurred mostly by Nucker—was one of the most entertaining aspects of this pool.

And now, thanks to a few people who had equal opportunity to make offers on the same players that Nucker traded for, his involvement and interest in the pool will be much lower.

Sorry to come off like I'm lecturing, but I think this is pure garbage, and unfortunately can't be reversed...

EDIT: and this isn't directed at Lefty, since he's already apologized.

Veto is part of the strategy. If you lose a season because of a trade you didn't think should of happened and could have prevented then is it bad to have it? I am not saying this because of a lopsided trade on my part. I knew it was. When your trying hard to get some excitement going at a slow time in the league you tend to make things happen. Hey it got people talking. I don't think Nucker has lost any interest in the pool I haven't. We were both talking about how we wanted to see a mega deal. It was gonna be lopsided on way or the other when trying to move big names. It looks bad on me because I was dealing away my youth core. Nucker knew that. Hell I told him I didn't want to do it he knew it rescinded the offer and put it back on the table 3 times. We just wanted some excitement. It was fun for me and in the end veto worked in my favour. I bet he enjoyed it too. Having a league were peers have a say makes it fun.

You can't veto an offer. Only an accepted deal.

Maybe the person who made the offer changed his mind and withdrew it?

I think thunda has had a change of heart...

I really should have gotten rid of the veto after the earlier fiasco.

- Fosco

So, is the veto gone now?

If they both truly do feel that was the trade they both feel comfortable making and want to make it again; I say do it! You won't hear any complaints for me. It's not worth having Nucker turn into St.Louis101 here. Did I feel it was lopsided, of course. But if that's what they truly want to do by all means.

Trading is one of the most enjoyable aspects of this pool, let's face it none of us would've even found hockeybuzz if it wasn't for our interest in trades and trade rumours.

I've sent you a PM to discuss this.

The veto is not for deals where there is suspected collusion.

Nothing else. It's not a strategy.

That's what the "accept" and "reject" buttons are for, as well as the "are you sure" button.

You can always go back to the person who made the offer and revisit the conversation.

I find the negotiation of funnest part of the trading; nothing worse than sending out trade offers and getting a simple rejection without any dialogue or counter-offer happening.

If bluechip accepted my offer you guys would have vetoed that one in his favour. Especially because his team is being dissolved after the season. Everyone wants another shot at Crosby. How is the draft gonna work are the teams being dissolved into the draft?

I can't access the commissioner's tools on my phone, so the veto will be gone when I get home from work.

Thunda has changed his mind about the deal.

Yes. Bluechip and CCGH are being dissolved after the season.

This has been discussed on here and on the pool board.

Any trade either made/makes would have been subject to scrutiny—since they are still competing this year, if the deal made them competitive this season, it would have been fine.

It would have been up for veto, but now it is up to the commissioner(s).

Haven't Bluechip and CCGH made it pretty clear that they won't be making any trades in fairness to everybody else?

I've given up hope on this trade and trading in general, so don't worry about that but what exactly was your strategy that involved the veto? I also didn't think we were trading just to get the league talking, I actually wanted a trade..that would go through. I love trading for the fun of it, but not for them to get vetoed. I also adjusted the offer multiple times, it's not like I offered you the same deals you said no to. I'm a little confused by this post to say the least. Clearly no one trades a Crosby or Stamkos in a "fair deal"

I think Bluechip said he'd make trades that would help his team compete this year. Obviously they'd be up to scrutiny, but I think that's fair.

CCGH hasn't said much other than I can dissolve his team at the end if the year.

That's kinda my opinion too. Or we could have a gentleman's code where u immediately say you hit the wrong button. But thunder clearly was in favour of this deal
- Bieksa#3

Bettman can always go back and manually return players to their original teams if a trade gets accepted accidentally.
