Ryan Kesler for Vinny Lecavalier, Hal Gill and a 2nd...If Kesler wants out, his list of teams to go to because of his NTC will only include Philadelphia. He has been bitter ever since Vancouver matched that offer sheet. Mike Gillis has his hands tied at this point and will have to take whatever Homer gives him. - keatondixon
Right, we move Kes for an even older, more injury prone bum, a guy who has lost all ability to skate annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd a second?
Is there any factional element to the other 95% of this post? |

Its merely a symbolic representation of how his season has progressed.
Not trying to be arrogant or insulting here but, do you feel as though he has had a good year to this point? - Whiskey-Tango
No.
He hasn't had a good year. It hasn't been as bad as his "whipping boy" status lets on, but that's based partially on expectations.
He looked like a totally different player playing for Sweden.
There's an ongoing thread over on HF, and based on several advanced stats, Edler, Bieksa, and Tanev have played similarly, with Tanev slightly ahead.
The guy who is struggling the most this season defensively, by a large margin according to advanced stats, is Garrison.
My comment was in regards to the fact that there are far more "stories" this season for the Canucks than Edler's play—it's been a footnote, in the grand scheme of things.

I wouldn't blame Kes. Play East coast , he could screw many more teammates wives on that side of the country |

He didn't deny it because it's policy to not discuss internal matters to the press.

If Kesler is traded you would think (hope?) that it would be for something sure fire. Say what you will about Kesler but he is a teriffic player. Wouldn't mind seeing him go, but only if it's for something that's pretty high end. Guys like Kesler are important pieces to successful teams. |

Gillis does not have to trade him. It has to be for a big return. |

Agree with everything, most notably his play with Sweden but....how long will we have to discuss these consistency issues.........at this point if we move him for scoring depth i'm for it, considering the fact that i am adamantly opposed to a full on rebuild, especially when it comes to moving defensive assets.
Talk about a sh!t season

I'll always be a fan based on the few years he looked like a future Norris winner based on his offensive AND defensive play, but he hasn't taken the next step.
If Gillis can get a good return (young legit top-forward) for any of the current D, I'm in favour of the trade. |
