Yeah but St. Louis was not 20th in the NHL for points between the 2010 games and 2014 games, he had the most points in the entire NHL - homiedclown
I'm sorry but that's bullpoop reasoning.
If team canada selected it's players based on point production they would never have won a medal.
The following players would be on team canada should they have selected based on point production the last three years.
Joe Thornton
Jerome Iginla
Matt Moulson
Chris Kunitz-sans Crosby
Brad Richards
And I think Andrew Ladd would have been the replacement forward... |

Yeah I respect Stevie Y but that was a bad call on not selecting Marty and the fact that he went as a replacement for Stamkos probably didn't help the way he felt. I know Marty said Stamkos wanted him to his replacement since he couldn't play but that's a tough situation. - sabresfandan
Remember it wasn't just Stevie Y's call , it was a committee.

I watch a ton of tampa games, 40 plus a year. He is the most gifted player I have seen up front not named mario, the great one or sid that I have seen since #16 |

Trust me, its a joke that Chris freaking Kunitz made it over him, but you have to remember, they left off guys with over a 1,000 career points like Joe Thronton as well... It's the toughest team to make - sbroads24
HE still wouldn't have been my choice if Someone were to replace Kunitz.
Giroux, Hall, Staal, then probably MSL. |

You know who's also very gifted? Alex Semin. Think he should make team canada if he was canadian?
They were looking for the 25 guys who could best execute the system they wanted to use to win gold, not the 25 best stickhandlers.
Sad part is, Canada probably didn't need him to win gold.
You're making it sound like he was robbed, he did eventually go...and win gold.

Hall is probably one of my top 5 favorite players to watch in the league. Super fast, big, and skilled. |

Lots of politics involved me thinks.
Yzerman steps down
now this.
There has to be more to the story.
But in all of this, right now St. Louis is an ass |

Exactly, tons of skilled guys got left off. They weren't looking for the best players they were looking for the right ones (finally got a miracle reference in ) |

The big reason a team like that is able to succeed is everyone having the ability to leave their ego at the door. Guys who play big minutes every night play fewer minutes and in different roles. If it is the way it sounds maybe its not a huge shocker he was left off in the first place |

all over xm home ice when he was snubbed and then when he was the replacement.
as a bolt fan, I was shocked when I heard it monday (reports befre he was the replacement), even more shock it's still a story today
I think it's crappy what he is doing to the bolts, but I can also see where he is coming from.
Before the season started, his goal was for the bolts to have a strong season and for him to play well so his kids could watch him play in the Olympics. He was very vocal on the Olympic dream all year long and his boss knew it when he snubbed him. This was something I heard St. Louis say at least 5 times during the season as well, before team Canada was selected. |

Don't get me wrong, I get that he's upset. What I don't get is why he's trying to make a mess of things and act like an ass. This is something for the off-season, not for the middle of a playoff run

That's just it, he never struck me as the kind of guy who would be "all about me" versus the team, quite the opposite actually.
To your point though, If the next story leaked is about how he was upset about his playing time on team canada, then he can go (frank) himself. |

If you want my opinion I had Matt Ellis ahead of Chris Kunitz but that's beside the point.
Again I get why he's upset but I don't understand the reaction. In the end he was taken, and he got the gold he wanted. |
