As someone else on ths thread just reminded us of recently...never confuse activity with accomplishment.

True..Springsteen's a living legend...and it's just a fact. Turn him off, turn the dial, but he's an ICON regardless.

Lot of acts/people i can't stand either, but they've MADE IT.

I Tweeted about playing at ND in front of about 80,000...The huge redo there puts that one on the radar.

I agree with everything about wanting to repeat but unless a big piece of the team is traded there will be no huge splash. The #'s don't work....and they aren't going to trade a regular for a rental.

So in essence nothing noteworthy can happen...

If the season ends poorly something big could happen at the draft....

The Hawks won't trade TT not only because they like him but he isn't good enough to bring back a top center alone and the #'s won't work anyway.

Bowman won't deal him for a rental. After March 5th any combo of Ice Hogs can up, including Pirri.

They need a dman back and the reason Kostka left could be because they like someone better....Someone who isn't a big name or a big cost like Derek Smith of the Flames.

....Or maybe Goc from Florida.

- Al

Correct and as it was mentioned to me the Hawks are willing to trade a player on the current roster...more so than years before. From what I was told teams ready to go into or who already are in rebuild mode would give up top veteran talent for TT, especially after the World Juniors.....but trading TT is moot because he doesn't impact the cap.....unless he is part of a package.

Yeah that's true. I never saw a group with such a high % of great songs as the beatles. Stones weren't that far behind. Always liked how media built up this good guys vs. Bad guys feud. They got along pretty good in reality
- tomcat24

Stones need to retire....enough already.

When it is true in a way. He wasn't trying to be a rock star. He was a rock star.

Zeppelin is my all time favorite but I rarely listen to them anymore....Sometimes I turn them on because my son likes a few of their songs but he is more into ACDC. I'm more into indie stuff now....

Johns is a D-man. Unless you mean Keith. I would say his ceiling is 3-4 D-man. He has a long way to get to that though. He has size, moves well. Kinda roams all over the place when I have watched him. What really bothers me is he is a senior and isn't on the first pairing over the boards on the PK. He does like to hit. But will take a penalty and get himself out of position to do it.

There is no edge...

Not going to trade Sharp, Seabrook, or a young player who has upside and doesn't make much money...Saad-Shaw...Just got Versteeg can't trade any of the dmen...So that leaves Bickell and only can happen if money would is retained and that won't work.

That leaves 4th line players who won't bring back much and and why screw with that group??

So unless someone can tell me what I'm missing...Nothing big can happen.

The big 4 won't go. I would trade Versteeg, but I doubt the FO trades him o quickly after getting him. Only other vet is bickell. Won't be shaw or Saad. But Bickell was one of our only hitters in the playoffs. Big risk to trade him. I would, though, in the right trade. Frees up good money. I think a Bickell, TT, and a 2nd would bring back a pretty good return. Maybe throw in another prospect

Heard Johns likes to look for the big hit and can come up empty and often end up out of position, but hear he's got an edge and size.

.....And not even a bad GM is going to take Bickell with injury concerns without getting money held back and that doesn't work now....Maybe later but not now.

He has the mobility for today's NHL. Like I said. For a senior D-man to not be over the boards on the first pairing for the PK is a red flag to me. In fact, one game I watched he didn't play the PK at all.

That was a QUALITY JOLT Mr. P

But he was deep in his own end. Trouble for him is when he Adam Dunn's those type of hits in the neutral zone.
