im tapped out then, only trades avs will make are trying to add a player for the cheap, not in the position to start tossing around big names.

O'Reilly is going to be resigned this summer according to reports and stastny wants to resign, avs want to sign him, depends on what he wants to take for cash

- DDM-Coga

Agree, no trades of either in next days....

I find that the avs talk was pointless from the start, but the person initiating it just won't stop.

There is the real now (the present Feb 25, 2010 when Colorado wants to make a run)
and the frantic fantasy Hawk board where every name any starving beat writed ever posted is a player that is FOR SURE getting traded because he will be a UFA...

come on phil, you're a helluva guy, but put down the pom poms when it comes to this kid. I am at every game and you could see this kid has a motivational issue. this ain't a kid koddling service , it's the NHL. I am sure Q is quietly whispering in SB's ear " get rid of this lazy____!"

Cheers Cup....right back bro
I've ripped Bicks aplenty here....but i do love the lad and will give him the benefit of the doubt until another playoff run is witnessed and in the the books....given he's still here.

That said, i've expressed my displeasure with his WEAK, LAZY performance in the first half on many occasions.

Bickell's contract isn't great but for the duration of his deal we'll have players under cap friendly contracts (Shaw, Versteeg, Kruger, Teravainen, Saad) plus the cap will continue to increase. So it's not the end of the world. Ideally I'd like to see Bickell be a 20 goal scorer but we may only get 15-20 at best. If he can continue to have playoffs like last season he's worth the money and I don't care what he does during the regular season.
- DarthKane

Again and i've said this too....i wouldn't care what he did or DIDN'T do in the regular season either if he was still making $500k/season like he used to.

When you sign a contract for 4 years/$16 million....i just can't give a dude a free pass for mailing it in for 6 months and showing up for 2. CAN'T DO IT.
He gets some leeway for the cumulative injuries he's had in the last year or so....but too many off nights to escape without some questions being asked.

The salary cap will keep increasing and it will get legs...I don't think this will be the last time we see a bunch of outdoor games.

Although Saturday night could be shaping up as a real weather challenge.

Hate Dylan. Actually. It was more along the line of Sinatra, Dino, Louis Prima, Jerry Vale and freaking Perry Como.
- Elbows15

Hate Dylan i admit the voice was a little tough to take, but the songs were pretty good. Pretty, pretty good. I was always a classic-rock guy

Yep. Music is an extremely personal thing TC. Hard to take? Finger nails on a blackboard is a more pleasant sound.

What is called classic rock is what i grew up with. I am tired of it.

FWIW. I hate (frank)ing Eric Clapton and Fleetwood Mac too.

Heard from an old friend who is close to FO......here is what he told me.

The Hawks want the repeat as bad as they wanted the cup last year and are looking at every avenue possible with hopes of accomplishing their goal. The mindset is they want to be considered a "historic franchise" in the historic realm of the NHL. With the core being what it is they are trying to squeeze everything they can out of it. Two factors have played into this.......the lack of cup hangover this year and StanBo getting more confident with what is in the pipeline for the future. The word is someone may go in a trade who is currently on the roster provided the return is justified. Do not expect anyone on the defensive side of the team to go unless a dman is in the return. TT is the only untouchable in the pipeline. The only possible way he is traded is if a 2C is in the return. If a big move is about to be made it is a good chance the Zus Caboose goes on LTIR a day or two before something happens....back injuries have a way of being hard to diagnose.

The same source told me a couple of months ago the Hawks will be in the 2016 Winter Classic in Notre Dame Stadium against the Bruins/Rangers/Blues....provided renovations are completed in South Bend.

The old man Bowman is high on Stephen Johns ...he has been to several games at ND and expects him in RFD this season.

Yeah that's true. Everyone has different tastes. I get sick of a lot of the classic rock stuff. It was great to hear all the beatle's stuff because of the ed sullivan thing, though. Never tire of them

I respect the classics, and there will always be a few older songs from my youth that will never quite get old to me, but by and large, I'm always on the quest for new music. I know the words and could name any Zeppelin tune in 3 notes. If they come on the radio I'll listen and sing along, but I would almost never choose to listen to them anymore. I've moved on with my musical life.

Zeppelin is my all time favorite but I rarely listen to them anymore....Sometimes I turn them on because my son likes a few of their songs but he is more into ACDC. I'm more into indie stuff now....

The Beatles and Stones are in a class all by themselves. Their music will remain timeless and fresh to me.
