Just bought an old (1958) used LP, on the back it had a small sticker....

IMPORTANT NOTICE

This is a "New Orthophonic" High Fidelity recording, designed for the phonograph of today or tomorrow.

Played on your present machine, it gives you the finest quality of reproduction. Played on a "Stereophonic" machine, it gives even more brilliant true-to-life fidelity.

You can buy today, without fear of obsolescence in the future.

John Jaeckel: Hawks Shopping Bickell?
- John Jaeckel

Bickell plus doesn't get you Andrew Ladd. As a jets fan I agree the jets management makes some questionable choices but I don't see how on earth they'd trade for a bad contract. Bickell is a solid player in the pre- salary cap word and I'd love to have him on my team... it doesn't add up.

IIRC, that would have been on the Columbia label.

As for Bicks....hate to see the org pull the plug on him before we could surmise
if last spring's performance was REAL or just a flash in the pan ?

Bicks has been banged up and may be still dealing with residual pain despite what he or the club says.

Hope we get to see him 1 more time in the playoffs for us.

- philco28

Why is everyone so quick to jump all over Bicks? As I recall he played well in most playoff games - and not just last year. If we trade him we have to get someone with size who can play on the 2nd or 3rd lines, and be a net front presence. Otherwise I take my chances with Big Bick.

If it was Columbia, Mitch Miller was running it - no rockers, but Tony Bennett, Rosemary Clooney, etc.

I bought an old RCA console HiFi with a BSA turntable. Been restoring/refurbishing it.

Quick to jump over him because he's been a huge disappointment so far....injured (not his fault), but generally meh when he has played. Needs to show MORE and the playoffs offer him the chance for redemption and as you point out...he knows that terrain well

JJ, i didn't even read the other posts yet but I'll say FFFF"NNN GOOD!, can't happen soon enough!, I'll take either of those guys .
I'm probably shootin from the hip but after watching Rene Bourque & Buff's bull crap and Bickell following suit, cut the bait fast SB! 3 more years of show up when I want will drive Q over the edge. 4 mill a year is too much to pay for a part time player !

Dylan's home from 1961 on.

Dion, too, after about 1963 - Ruby Baby, Donna the Prima Donna

No Gingers. Isn't Hartnell signed another 20 years or so? Hasn't his play dropped off to nothing in the last 2 years? One positive is he definitely someone Slowzus can keep up with. Guy is glacially slow.

OMH Gretzky Ott just missed a breakaway. Bust.

- Elbows15

Hartnell is 31 and has a lot of hard miles....About as slow as Handzus and seeing he falls to the ice often... maybe slower.

Hate Dylan. Actually. It was more along the line of Sinatra, Dino, Louis Prima, Jerry Vale and freaking Perry Como.

Such as Bolland, who wants more than $5M for five plus years. The market is changing rapidly.

Why not ask for the sky because Toronto is like the Rangers they pay out big contracts as if it was counterfeit money...How much is Phaneuf making??

Love the TV shows, bought the album more for the artwork than anything. It was in very good condition and only $1.

The Hartnell trade doesn't make any sense.

Why would the Hawks take on an older player with the same skill set who's signed at a higher price tag for a longer term?

That one was even worse than the Ladd rumor which I thought was BS from the start. These names might have been discussed but I doubt they ever got to the point where actual names were discussed or proposals were made.

Bickell might get moved, but it will be for someone with significantly less money or brings in a different skill.

- yahoodi

Ladd is a nice player in different ways....But he wanted to stay in Peg and I'm sure he enjoys the ice time and wearing a C...Both things he wouldn't get on a better team.

Plus he has a NTC....

For all those hoping for a big splash....Hold out hope for the Draft but that isn't happening either unless the playoffs end with a thud.

come on phil, you're a helluva guy, but put down the pom poms when it comes to this kid. I am at every game and you could see this kid has a motivational issue. this ain't a kid koddling service , it's the NHL. I am sure Q is quietly whispering in SB's ear " get rid of this lazy____!"

Bickell's contract isn't great but for the duration of his deal we'll have players under cap friendly contracts (Shaw, Versteeg, Kruger, Teravainen, Saad) plus the cap will continue to increase. So it's not the end of the world. Ideally I'd like to see Bickell be a 20 goal scorer but we may only get 15-20 at best. If he can continue to have playoffs like last season he's worth the money and I don't care what he does during the regular season.
