Bob McKenzie says teams are talking about Kesler...
- Iggysbff

Gillis is shopping for help for Kesler right now. Something thats been needed Keslers whole career with the exception of a few brief flashes of chemistry... it really never has happened.

I really think a different 2nd line C is desperately needed. Horvat, not for a couple/few seasons and that isnt 100%. If they could keep Kesler and do this fine but relying on him has more or less been one of the biggest reasons we fail in the playoffs. For all the worship he gets you'd think he done something besides his one series beast mode in the span of his whole career thus far.

This team needs a offensive C in his prime.... a consistent one.... a healthy one... something Kesler isnt.

You would really be dreaming if you thought it would be a first with Scarlett Johansson.

Kesler's needed a playmaking C with him shifting to the wing full time. I honestly don't believe Gillis has ever seen that and has insisted on playing him at C and lining him up with the plug du jour.

The main reason I get down on Gillis is not because he can't execute a big trade but rather because you can see he keeps attempting the same tactic over and over again.

I think that would be more of a coaches decision, blame AV, Torts is the one who put him on the wing.

Not if there's no one to pass him the puck. Kesler looked effective on the Sedins' wing, that's about it. He needs a playmaker at C (or on his wing) and we don't have the depth to load up 1 line with Sedin-Sedin-Kesler. Coaches work with what they've got, GMs provide what they've got.

Lots of speculation right now that Kesler gets moved to where there is a winger that can play with him . Might have just been a slip of tongue but many are finding it weird that Torts said Kes is going for a full physical for a hand injury. Full physicals usually come with trades

Alternatively it'd be nice to see something like Edler for Cowen+Greening.

You're speculating that it's just a hand injury.

Cowen- 56gp 3G 9A 12P -2 30 pim 3.1m/year
Edler - 41gp 5G10A 15P -23 24 pim 5m/year

I'm thinking it's about a wash with Edler, but we'd get the cap dump+Greening.

Our main problem is we need scoring . You don't trade an all star player for two mid range players that don't add to the scoring issue.

It's also Kesler. To assume he only has a hand injury is dreaming.
