I know right?
- Pecafan Fan

I think what happened was that the other teams knew that Team Canada could call up Colton Orr or George Parros and so they didn't play as hard or go into the corners or the front of the net.

You can't put a value on having those kind of players come from the same country as your superstars.

Can you believe they did that without fighters on the 4th line?

- Pecafan Fan

THis year Orr already got the gold and Parros the Silver, no?

Not true. You can't take fighting out of hockey. It is different from every other contact sport.

The pacifists should focus their attention on taking the fighting out of boxing.

HE'S A MESS WITHOUT SUTER! A MESS!

And with that contract, no one would take him on their team.

NOT EVEN FOR LOLONGO!

i know.. but excuse me if I ask why you think this?

they dominated damn near every aspect of the tourney

sure.. they didnt overpower with offense but frankly... thats not how you win short tourneys

i think they executed what babcock wanted them to.. this wasnt a failing in offensive ability.. it was dedication to a particular system.

i just dont see how you can be unimpressed with a team that never once trailed and went undefeated? asking for anything more is quite frankly, a bit unrealistic no?

- Dozzer

It was boring, no hitting, no scoring, nothing. I can't stand it, it was like watching New Jersey Devils circa 1995.

Not being able to score more sure made me worried before they faced USA.

And then you look at how the US were dominated, even if Canada scored only once, you just knew that this team's prime focus was to shutdown their opponent.

Babcock probably would have liked more offence, obviously. And so do I, but in the end, it's the result that matters. They won, convincingly, at that, against the US and Sweden.

Depends on how drunk you were, weather it is debatable or not.

If Carlyle coached team Canada they would have been out shot every game but found a way to win. Fact!

If you're looking for a sport where the winner is judged based on style and artistic impression you might want to look into figure skating.

ok i will give you that.. entertainment value was lacking

but when it came to sound hockey you really cant complain..

also.. the devils won the cup in '95

however i am sure you know that .. hence.. the reference.

boring hockey doesnt equal bad hockey tho.. i guess thats what i am saying.

rather have a boring winner than an exciting loser.

It was a part of the ice dance competition. Also useless.

Taking defensemen that can skate! What a novel concept!

I think it's just because people we're afraid of the uncertainty of guaranteed victory and a comfortable lead the entire tournament.

Canada dominated the entire time.

Honestly, once TC got going, the difference between them and their competition was worse than what you see in women's hockey.

yup.. game 1 was a wash.. like pond hockey

after that you could tell babcock was molding the team into a defense first juggernaut.

the style of hockey wasnt an afterthought, it was the focus.

And it's not like they didn't have a lot of chances offensively. They did. They just couldn't finish for some reason.

With Julienne and Hitchc'ock I'm surprised the opposition got any shots.

Although Price didn't break a sweat all tournament.

Whole team seemed snakebit for some reason. A few more games, and they would've been pumping in 6-8 regularly.

Price was conditionned his entire career to protect one goal leads.

He was destined for these Olympics.
