Habs would be a lottery team without him. Screw your head on right. - FinAddict
Think so? Although its a much smaller sample size, Budaj's numbers are actually slightly better than Price's. So maybe they wouldn't be.
Like I said, he is decent but he isn't amazing. I wouldn't put him in the top 10 of NHL goalies.

Kunitz had 1 point....... He changed no ones opinion of him by scoring another goal off he work of the worlds best player |

If Budaj started 3-4 games a week he wouldn't have good numbers.
He's easily top 5 in NHL goalies, I'd argue top 3. Single handedly has a poopty team in the playoffs and allowed ZERO goals in the Olympic playoffs. I don't care who is playing in front of you that's (frank)ing amazing. |

Is this a joke??? Did you watch the last three games??? Kunitz was among Canada's best forwards!!! Period end of story... So more accurately he did nt change your opinion (and other s like you), but lets be fair, nothing he did would have changed your opinion... It's cool, some people just can't admit their wrong, but that's a discussion for a different website.

It's not a joke, you would have difficulty finding anyone who's opinion of him changed because of the Olympics. He had 1 point in 6 games.
He and Crosby played well. Crosby is the worlds best player, Kunitz is the guys that's taking serious advantage of it |

Kunitz did play two very good games in all 3 zones against the Americans and Swedes though. Didn't really look out of place there IMO. |

Agreed.
I didn't think Kunitz should have made the team, and felt he was pretty bad in the round robin........but nobody can deny that he has been very good the last two games. He had a hard time finishing some great chances against the US, but so did everyone else.
At the end of the day, his making the team obviously didn't hurt the team.
As for Crosby, this tourney didn't prove anything for him. Anyone who didn't already think he was the best player in the world is just a hater. You can not like him, I know I don't (prob cuz he owns my team), but I sure as poop respect his game |

He did, but to say he's was one of the best Canadian forwards his pretty inaccurate IMO. Benn, Toews, Carter, Just to name a few all came up big when Canada needed to. |

none of those guys really had a great Olympics besides one game. Carter with his hat trick, Benn his goal against USA and Toews today.
This Olympics was about defense, you really cant any Team Canada forward had a great Olympics. They played a great tourney and deserved the gold medal. Happy for Kunitz and Crosby, now they can focus on the Penguins and not the blowback from choking.

This line is completely correct... He looked a bit lost in a couple of the earlier games. Not sure if it was nerves or the big ice, or what... That gave credence to the "he's out of place/should have left him home" crowd. His game caught up to the play when it mattered and played well in the elimination games. That gives credence to his supporters.
In the end, Kunitz is what he is... a very hard worker, with a decent scoring touch, and who seems to make the skill players he plays with better/more comfortable. If you don't like him, seeing him play well in a couple of games isn't going to change that, and if you like him, seeing him struggle in a couple of games isn't going to change that either.
Kunitz said at some point in the last few days, that the only criticism that he cares about, is inside the locker room. I would guess that most Canadian players were fine with his play/him being there, and would take him on their team any time. |

Toews was good the entire time, so was Carter. Benn also had the biggest goal in the tourney.
I would say besides maybe Sharp, Nash and Marleau, I couldn't say Kunitz was really better than any other player |

They won gold so yes. It's a non issue. However he did little if anything to change the "Kunitz haters" opinion of him.
