Are you telling me that going after a stiff like Regin and putting him on the 2nd line to center Patrick Kane is "genius" coaching? Bylesma has a cup too, but I don't see everybody jumping up and standing in line to worship him The way some people do Quenneville around here. - Q...argh
A cup. Bylsma has a cup. Q has two, plus another as an assistant coach. I don't agr ee with everything he does, not even close. Two years ago I was ready to run him out of town too. Two cups buys him my long term benefit of the doubt, even if I disagree with many of his moves in the short term. |

How did Quenville go after Regin? - rollpards19
I refuse to believe that Quenneville did not have major input in that decision. that it now comes out that Quenneville likes him and is going to put him on the second line sure seems to confirm this. |

my dog could've coached teams to the cup with the teams Quenneville was blessed with. They were his to lose. as a matter of fact, he came pretty damn close to it against Detroit last season didn't he???!!! - Q...argh
The Hawks had 2 legitimate goals taken away from them in the Detroit series . That hurts anyone's chances to win.
Lots of teams are loaded with talent . Only 1 team wins. |

Agreed, I think depth is often to focused on. I don't even think Leddy and Rosival really matter that much either. Can they help or hurt the team, sure, but what it comes down to is your top 6 and top 4 outscoring the other team's top 6 and top 4 (barring crazy goalie series). - rollpards19
I always go back to the Eric Lindros quote: The team with the best third line wins in the playoffs. |

I agree wholeheartedly that the officials seemed to be doing their best to screw the Hawks over in that series. however, Q screwed them a lot more by inexplicably juggling all the lines that were so successful to that point in an attempt to out-coach Babcock. |

Not an insult. A high calonic cleanses the body and the soul relieving it of angst that has built up. |

No, I think he's telling you that you are nothing if not predictable. In your case it is the reflexive negative reaction to anything Q does. You are the second most predictable poster here (behind fivvy), and the theme is the same over and over and over and over... |

Pretty close? What does that mean? That they almost didn't win the Cup? Very intuitive; and also true most years. I noted that you didn't address the main point when you responded - that you simply dog the coach (even for GM responsibilities) and rarely, if ever, have an alternative. Anyone could do that... |

Talk about predictable ... should've known you'd insert yourself into it. So, how are ya? Roids any better? |

You have $4MM in cap to find a proven producer. The problem with evaluating Bickell at the end of the playoffs is it was just like how Tallon. - Return of the Roar
The problem with the premise of your argument, the 4 mil gets you...
(or GOT you)
Jaromir jagr with no wheels left
"2nd line" centre Derek Roy.
I love thsi one...the fans in Buffalo were appalled by his play for his pay prior, and still not a number two centre.
Mike Ribeiro is the closets to one and that is ONE WAY and he got 5.5 Mil
Matt Cullen got 3.5 MILLION!
Steven Weiss 4.9 million !!!!!
Val Fillppula FIVE Million! and he is not a solid pivot either.
Hell, Stalberg STALBERG got THREE!
Boyd Gordon got THREE.
ELIAS 5.5 mil and close to done.
so please don't tell me or Bowman about how you were gonna get him a second line centre in lieu of Bickell's departure.
Going outside always cost more.
You keep trying develop a centre who can excel to be your Logan Coture and hope that he can handle the spot and the injuries and generate offense.
It's nice to play GM, but you know teans usually don't let good centremen capable of second line duty go to UFA.
when Kesler gets there, we get in the front of the line, but until it happens please don't tell where the money used to reward a player in your own system is not worth it.
The Bickell contract may not be as sexy as his last one to unload but it isn't an inconvenience for any team to take one in the next year or so when the Cap soars...

They're awful, thanks. Back to the topic - I'll be sure to ask you for your alternative to each of your Q-bashing points. Then you can not answer and ask about my roids, psoriasis, or anything other than the point at hand. |

Phuck Eddie - he don't own the bald eagle. And he had a penchant for softies! - mohel
Speaking of Eagles...Lots of Bald Eagles gathering around the Fox River lately. Pretty cool, my whole life they were like these mystical creatures that didn't exist anywhere but Alaska, and suddenly they're everywhere. Saw at least a dozen of them in one tree last week. Very cool. |
