Kostka on waivers per Renaud Lavoie - MartiniMan
Perhaps Bowman hopes to maneuver around salary cap by putting Kostko on waivers. "Kostko" has not really been a discount saving acquisition but maybe he becomes more like the savings you get at a "Costco" if he is a pawn leading to another deal. |

Good points....so if you scratch Chicago off the list, who is your favorite to win the cup? I gotta go with St.Louis...and they don't need Miller to do it either. - Jeropotato
They have everything needed to go all the way, except goaltending. Without that, I wouldn't bet on them. |

I have no horse in this race. I tried to get us a legit 2C. Everyone got their panties all in a bunch. - Elbows15
My gut tells me that Teravainen is going to get a look there before the season is over. |

Meh. He has bust written all over him. May as well so they can see he won't make it in the NHL. Poor Kane. Destined to play with every great last hope and castoff. This keeps up he may as well sign with Buffalo. |

Anybody checked to see if Kane is breathing? It's tough to score with your hands firmly clasped to your neck. We should probably make sure he lets go. #choke - carcus

They bring him up too soon, they risk ruining his career before it should even have started. From what I've seen, he has the raw talent, but is at least a year away. |

Its not Q making a bad judgement. From time to time I saw him play in RFD for three years prior....Eli has seen him more and both of us kept saying the same things but no one would listen.....and well....we all saw how it ended. Its well documented what we said and will save everyone the history.....People have their opinions...the ones who were pro 37 never or rarely saw him play.... |

Maybe, maybe not. I can't say that I agree or disagree at this point. It just seems like this is the way it's going to play out - that the organization is going to take a look at Teravainen before the season ends. |

Mike Smith was the GM when Dunc's was drafted and brought to the Hawks, not Tallon...right? |

Well, it hasn't quite ended yet.
With Kostka on waivers, it could be that Pirri is the one who gets recalled.
At any rate, things with Pirri sticking in the organization haven't looked too good for Pirri at this point. Also, I agree with your take on things earlier in the season - that players like Pirri and Morin are "bridge players," or pieces to fill in the gaps until either the ones the organization is waiting on develop, or the organization finds better fits outside of the organization.
Even if Pirri gets another shot to stick, I suspect that the organization has already made its mind up. Either one or both of Pirri or Morin will be expendable and gone as soon as the trade deadline or as late as the draft with the other getting a roster spot in Chicago next season. That's if one of the two are still around come fall. |

I have seen him play Saint. Quite a few times. I just don't see him being able to handle the NHL game. He is slight. Not just small. There really isn't that much room for weight on his frame. He avoids the walls. He is rarely there even on the big sheet. There is less room in the NHL. Is he talented? Yes, he is. My opinion is his skills are made for the European game. I hope I am wrong and he fills a need. Time will tell.

One other thing on TT. Players picked 18th overall rarely are top 6 players. Does it happen? Of course. The percentages are against it though. |

I'm thinking that Morin could end up being a valuable bottom 6 wing with some scoring upside. That might be why the Hawks might hold onto him for next season. |

I have always said - get him to Rockford for a year - give him a chance to learn the North American pro game - give him a chance to put on 15-20-25 pounds of strength.
I hope you are wrong, too - I'm willing to wait and see.
