Oh, wasn't sure if this was mentioned, but the Isles put Nielsen on IR.

So just like that, they are down their top two centres. Wonder when they'll be asking for Pirri?

It's a possibility.

College hockey is ending and they have 30 days to sign some of their picks I believe Steven Johns etc... Have to get rid of someone else also as they have 49 contracts already.

This seems most likelly then. Kotska was waived to make room for Johns contract ?

I doubt it. Seems to me that Bowman was looking to make some room for a deadline deal or two.

I feel like this deadline will be a lot busier that deadlines past because teams have to be sick and tired of losing to the Hawks in the playoffs. I think theDucks Blues and Kings are looking to be active.....

The Predators thought the same thing at the deadline last year. Where did it get them?

Agreed. I dont think even St. Louis thinks they can beat the Hawks in a 7 game series . No shootout gimmiks when its for real

Does anyone think TT can contribute this year ? Isn't early next season even a little soon forTT ?

Hi prd,

Please don't get this started again.

The Olympics start and I say to myself I'm going to give HB a rest for a while, two weeks to be exact. I go to the local library and get a great BBC mini series called All Creatures Great And Small set in Yorkshire based on books by a Vet who worked in the area. Not all that far from you I believe. I come back to the blog yesterday and guess what is the first thing I read about. A post about how Q has been too demanding on Pirri and Morin and that is why they are still not up with the team along with the usual pissing and moaning about Zus. I commented on that and and was called someone else's lackey and then was told that I bring nothing new to the table other than commenting on how the Pirri thing has been beaten to death. All this from the same person who among others continues to beat it to death.
I would bet that if I did the same thing that two weeks from now I would be reading the SOS.

Good to see ya back Rtang. Yep, not much in the way of new stuff has happened around here recently. A break is always nice, especially when relevant hockey isn't here for us to kvetch about.

On that series, there were two runs of it as I can remember. One in the 70s and one in the late 80s IIRC? Parents always had me watch old British shows with them as a kid, and I remember the name, but not necessarily what it was about.

Back to 'hockey'-related points though, I'd have to think eventually (and hopefully soon) that #37/#23-in-the-A gets moved, and by then someone will posit another person to keep us occupied. Just as long as it's not somebody named Pierre...

I don't know, but I wouldn't put it past Bowman to want to try him out if he can't find anyone else to play with Kane.

I think he could help, but will he be given the chance is another story. We don't have the cap space right now so somebody would have to be dealt or demoted. So who goes in order to make space for TT?

If thats the case then its Pirri for the roster spot and Regin sent down ?

That's seems to be the logical choice. But Stan has some time to watch a few games before making a decision. With his cap hit so low I'm sure somebody would take a chance on Regin.

I think TT could contribute this season but my money is on Stan waiting until next year to give him a shot.

Isn't the question if Q dresses a newbie how much he actually sees of the ice?
Answer to question one:
Any player can come in an has some factor contributing...'member a few years ago Ben Smith scored a couple times and became the board's dandy?

Answer to question two:

Yes.
Unless the kid stands out among the veteran squad to a point where he forces their keeping him.

Wouldn't college kids be just like the ones coming out of junior - playing out the rest of the season in the minors on PTO contracts and signing ELC's that start next season?

Sorry to pimp this agenda here, but is anyone looking for tickets to Saturday's game at Soldier?

Holler at me via PM if you'd have an interest. Had some changes to my itinerary and I doubt I will be able to make it.

Ah. I get it then. All others are ignorant unless they subscribe to to your views. I guess that clears it up. I will stick to mine and wait until it all shakes out.

This is like arguing with my wife. You miss the basic point. All I have pointed out to you in this exchange is that your frustration with this continuing to be an issue comes not from others, but the unoriginal source. Then like Pavlovs dog, some run behind whining about an issue and it being raised pointing fingers in the wrong direction, which is all I pointed out.

Regarding an opinion or characterization of the issue, it has been settled. I fret not to convince others to my way of thinking or being right. To the contrary, it is what others scream out in protest with any opinion counter to their own. This is a fluid board of exchange. If someone wants to spout off nonsense, so be it, if they want to attack and agitate, then expect no silence from me

I think he can contribute. The question is how much and how consistent. He didn't look lost in preseason but then again it wasn't against full NHL rosters.

Different times, different situation but Bowman did do the same with Krugman.....it does tell us he's not afraid to do something like that again.
