As crude as it was (but crude that is funny is just funny) - I liked 2 1/2 Men when Charlie Sheen was on it.
Never caught on to Big Bang. - StLBravesFan
As crude as it was with sheen it is even cruder now. You are right funny is funny. But I'm a little shocked at some of the stuff they do now. I can't believe they do it on network tv, either. It is fine with me, though. It took me awhile to like big bang theory |

Have seen Gilbert twice live. Hilarious! He's always money on Howard Stern too. From one of his shows...My impression of a Jew in the desert, "Who could possibly need all this sand?" - HawkintheD
Never seen him in more than 5 minute snips - I would think he would be tiresome after 10? |

Great show. Other than Modern Family about the only network sitcom worth watching. - HawkintheD
Quite possibly the worst how I've ever seen. Cannot fathom how it's still on the air. |

Yeah he was always really funny. Have you seen him recently? I wonder if he was able to move on from that controversey a few years back? - tomcat24
Haven't seen him live recently. He still goes on Stern, though I don't listen as often as I used to. When I've hear shim there he's been great.
By controversy I assume you're referring to his less than well received comments about the tsunami in Japan. What's funny is he was fired from doing the Afflac commercials for his comments about the tsunami.
Gilbert's the most politically incorrect, insensitive prikk on the planet, which was nothing new. Afflac chose to plead ignorance as far as having no idea who they hired to be the voice of the goose/duck whatever for their commercials...which is actually kind of funny. |

Yeah modern family is the best one on now. You are right about comedies on now. I'm a sit-com man 1st, but there isn't a lot of good stuff now. I usually watch hockey and shows on usa or tbs like modern family or law and order episodes. Pretty sad |

Which one is possibly the worst? If you say Big Bang - I'd agree.
Modern Family is closest to the great sit-coms of the not too distant past: Frazier, Cheers, Taxi, WKRP, Barney Miller, Bob Newhart, Richard vanDyke; not to mention the sit-coms of long ago: Honemooners, Phil Silvers/Bilko/You'll Never Get Rich, Burns and Allen - don't think I've missed many that I thought were classics - that made me laugh every show.
That's not many for 60+ years of TV. |

All that is true. guess they figured people just knew him from doing the voice-over in those disney movies and kids would remember him from those |

Just like the Duck Dynasty controversy: the network hires them because the audience will laugh at the rednecks, but when they actually act all-rednecky, they run to disassociate.

No whispers here so far....Just trying to connect the dots.
I don't see the sense in #1 and #2...So #3 makes the most sense to me. Issue is from what I saw of Peckham and others in Rockford-Bowman could be looking at adding a dman right back.
I can't see who Morin is going to replace at this point....And Pirri would be the highest value feasible trade chip they have right now.
Just to toss Kostka away at this point is a head scratcher...As little as people think of him...There isn't anyone Q will trust more in Rockford.
Granted....This is all a moot point if injuries don't hit soon...But can't see much time for experiments in the final 22 games.
Toews & Canada capture Gold. Kane-Team USA vet leaders?? -Kostka on waivers, trade deadline thoughts: My Fox Chicago:
http://bit.ly/1nYqY4c - Al
To lose Stanton on waivers in order to keep Kostka and then to just waive Kostka doesn't make any sense. Has to be a trade where Bowman gives up some excess minor league talent for a better player on an expiring contract.
Or signing college kid(s) like the Red Wings did with DeKeyser. |

Good writing and a couple of really good characters. But hey it's not for everyone. I love Curb Your Enthusiasm, but it makes my wife cringe and it's unwatchable for her.
I would contest though if you think Big Bang is the worst show out there, you need to watch more tv. You're not even close |

That's a great list. On my list I would add: seinfeld, the office, night court, to a lesser degree maybe scrubs and my name is earl. I'm sure those wouldn't be on other lists. I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot. Maybe perfect strangers with bronson pinchot |

Big Bang Theory is one of the shows they play on American Airlines flights...that's the only time I ever see it. Predictable, obvious, juvenile, cliché, formula, simple....just a few words I would use to describe that show. I've probably seen at least a 18-24 episodes and can't say that I've ever laughed once. Bad. |

You forgot Soap, Seinfeld, All in the Family, Sanford and Son, Married with Children, Scrubs and Malcolm in the Middle. Have read some of your posts that your not a Seinfeld guy so perhaps we differ on some of the classics.

Sheldon should earn 3x more than the others. He has about 80 % of the dialogue. I wonder how many takes it takes for all those lines? Howard is a great character, too. I agree about Curb. You either love it or hate it. I love it |

Like I said Ogi, different strokes for different folks. I get you don't like it. I do and in my mind as far as sitcoms go, take your pick of just about nearly everything else out there. There's much worse.
I'm of a mind that if you watch say another ten episodes you will come around on Big Bang like you have on Patrick Sharp. If nothing else Kaley Cuoco is nice to look at and at least we agree on Modern Family. |

Damn I knew I would leave out some great ones on my list: soap, married with children, and all in the family. Great shows. I'm sure there are still many, many more. While I'm sure saint meant the original bob newhart show, I really like the new Newhart show, too. |

Hey Tom! Good adds, though I would stipulate the British office. The original. The cast was great and Ricky Gervais was awesome! So was his other series, Extras. |

Correct on Seinfeld - situation comedy is a very personal situation.
All of those shows had moments - even a couple of seasons - but eventually outlived their funniness. After a year or two got tired of Archie's histrionics and Meatheads liberal stereotype.
The great ones (to me) were funny throughout, with characters who enjoyed being with each other. That's a key to me - very little insult humor, say funny things - not outrageous things. |

My only quibble is the Richard Van Dyke show would hardly be not so distant past. It was fifty years ago. |

Best episode: the last two minutes of the last show.
THAT was classic. |
