I think it was both.

While it's true either planets or asteroids could be mined. Asteroids would present one huge advantage, little or no gravity to deal with.

OK TG I need your expert view here. You have been on record as saying Babcock is one of the best coaches in the league and that he doesn't micromanage his bench yet I saw more line changes and special teams adjustments in a little over a week than I saw Q make in a month. Could it be you're mistaken and Q is in very good company and that line tinkering is something all good coaches do, including arguably the best of all time, Scotty Bowman who changed his line combinations more than most coaches?

Also I want to get your view on Bylsma who seemingly took your advice and not only didn't make any adjustments when facing team Canada, but he in fact allowed his hottest scorer,Phil Kessel, to go head to head with perhaps the best defensive forward in the NHL in Toews without making any adjustments.

- paulr

First, are you really equating a 10 day tournament with 2 practices, with NHL regular season?

What did he juggle the last 3 games? His extra forward?

AS far as Bylsma, no matter what line Kessel matched up with, Team USA was at a big disadvantage. Somebody else said it best the other day, that Poile put Team USA together like he was mirroring the Predators. That Milktoast Vanilla roster with only two dynamic offensive players, could have used 2 more, 1 for each line. They were built to win 1-0, but could not get to 1 when it mattered.

For the 1 millionth time, Q's line juggling is annoying and not my philosphical preference. I know that is hard for so many to gather. Daryl Sutter and Claude Julien won cups the last few years without juggling a thing. More importantly, for 20 years prior, when Q won NO cups, was he still a genius then, or was it only when he hitched his wagon to Toews did his fortunes change? Q is a solid coach with a solid resume, but as I have said before, Coaching is far too over rated. Either your players play and want it or they don't (or some believe they just flip a switch) Hey whatever floats your boat.

Back to Bylsma, what real options did he really have, chasing a matchup is often a far bigger headache. You just assume with a loaded roster, that you will have another matchup you prefer, which you need to expose. Plus the ultimate irony is Q's genius plan of splitting Toews and Kane vs Bruins and Charra last year did not work, at some point, your horses have to outplay the other teams horses. That is what Bylsma figured. They were outplayed, but one shot away from overtime that never panned out.

Did you and Handzuis get any down time together over the break?

Yes. And in fairness I will also apologize for letting it go on. While a trade along those lines would be something you have to listen to like Saint has mentioned. At the end of the day, my answer would be no.

Cool, sorry again for getting personal. Happy you joined the board, its fun having regular posters as opposed to those who pop in and pop out.

Do you really believe the regular season is played with the same intensity as the playoffs?

Where was that suggested? Oh the flip your switch theorem? You do not make the playoffs in the NHL without playing playoff hockey every night.

Are the stakes elevated in the playoffs? Of course, but fundamentally what is different, you try to outscore your opponent. You do it with less space and time.
