2 pm here now, good time for me

Also wondering why no OEL for Sweden and how good they would be with the mentioned players. But even though the team has been put together very good and looks pretty homogenous.

What a chance by Perry seconds ago...

Really good question. Is he hurt? If not, it makes no sense....

Syd does his thing.

I believe OEL is out because of coach's decision and not injury.

Definitely makes no sense and the D-men playing ahead of him (Jonathan Ericsson) just presented Sid the 2-0 on a silver plate. Great hockey and then such a mistake in an olympic final.

I don't think Sweden can turn this around. With rooughly 1 period left, Canada so far with 3 GA in the whole tournament and Price with a Sv% >96%...

No extra 2 minutes for blood rule in the Olympics?

That rule is in effect, but the blood came from hitting the boards rather than direct contact with the stick. Extra 2 happens with blood on a high-sticking call.

Apparently dressed not playing - Olczyk saying he hasn't played in 2 games, should see some ice time.

Just a reminder - to get even a decent "grit" guy to play on the third/fourth lines the Hawks are going to have to lose a salary from the roster. And nobody can really be sent down without waivers. Regin and Kostka won't get much. A trade without a rostered player leaving is pretty unlikely, imo.

Hey Mohel...yup I was assuming with the Ladd move we were still talking Bickell going the other way.

Meanwhile you've got 1.2-.5 in cap with moves of Kostka/Regin etc...
Jagr's cap hit is 2m this year. Wonder what its down to at the deadline?

Here are Jagr's stats from the Devils website 17g 32a 49p and he's +21. Sure he's 42, but I can't believe he wouldn't help the Hawks PP. You know McD likes to be splashy.

Meanwhile phenom goal by Tazer there in the first of the Gold game. Hope it holds up for the winner. Hawks have looked good on both sides (particularly Kruger) except the pizza served up by Oduya in the 2nd.

Hello DK. The salary the Hawks can take will not change by the TDL; they are over the cap and can't accumulate cap space.

Ol' Toews ain't no creampuff - looks like he told the rest of the boys to follow him.

Pirri has 28 gp while learning, making adjustments, and surely sometimes tentative in certain moments due to Q_'s demands. A totally fair review would be now going forward. He has a grasp of what is expected of him. He can play and I react in a more natural setting. He is your offensive #2 center until someone else comes along. Can he be more than what he has shown defensively? I will answer that with another question: who is certain Handzus can repeat last playoff performance. Lastly, PM Bouchard and The other guy is practically a complete waste. Are they here for depth because Q will go with a veteran in playoffs which plays defense over a Pirri (assuming Handzys shows he is washed up)

Are we ever going to stop this obsessive hand wringing over this guy. It's over and done with.

Now it's Q's demands that made Pirri tentative??? Give me a break. Funny how those demands didn't seem to frighten Krugs or Sadd...

Too much Canada - Swedes can't get any pressure on Price.

Probably not. If Q thought he was the answer at 2C he'd be up here but until they get a 2C The debate will go on.

I was hoping for a more competitive game than this. Canada is too good and the Sweedes just don't have the firepower .

Good points. Well there are still people who think Sami Lepisto is some star that Q mishandled to death. Of course the rest of the league passed on him, but he would have been a star here....

Haven't heard Sedin mentioned for the Sweedes. Has he disappeared or is he hurt.

Canada in hockey should be like the US in basketball: tested, but never vanquished.
