It's too bad Pedan had so much of the season wasted with the injury. I was looking forward to seeing how he'd come along in the AHL this year. |

mayfield, reinhart, dehaan, donovan, pedan, pullock. That's not even all the young d we have coming, but if dehaan keeps improving and stays healthy, donovan keeps improving and 2 of those guys pan out, we're going to be so much better on d it'll be lightyears ahead of right now.
the issue is the guy coaching them. |

Exactly Isles_since_6! Cappy should not get to coach any of these players. Cappy should be gone in the offseason. |

Cappy should be gone before this team plays a single game after the Olympic break and Lavy should be behind the bench. Seems obvious to me... |

I thought Pokka looked really steady in the WJC...and he played a lot of important minutes. I see folks talking about Pelech a lot too, but I've never seen him play. |

I wanted to write Cappy should be gone now UIF but it seems like a pipe dream. I hope Charles and Garth where watching Ted Nolan coach at the Olympics. |

the amount of seemingly good defensive prospects we have is incredible, however they need to develop into NHL players, and good ones, for us to take another step forward |

If three of them pan out we are in great shape. That may be a lot to ask? |

That's what makes it scary. Glaringly obvious, important things that need to be fixed that can help this team be successful are neglected. |

I'm just wondering if the kids should stay in Bridgeport for the rest of the season and hope for a good playoff run. Maybe even build a winning attitude! |

This is going to be especially glaring if they have success in Bridgeport playing defense properly, and then come to Long Island and start running around like the Keystone Kops, which is apparently how it's drawn up on the white board. I wonder if anyone in a position to fire anyone will notice.... |

Well they said in the past they play the same system in both clubs so when these players come up they are ready to go(minus the all important team meetings of course) so I'm not so sure about whats working in the AHL translating to success with the big club? I for one have no idea what goes on with BDGPT presently as far as their coaching and how good it is? It's hard enough for the big club to keep my interest these days. |

Their coaching is fine... Pellerain runs a real tight ship... He is a blast to watch during practice..

Do they they play the same system as the Islanders? Do the defensemen "activate" as much as they do on the Islanders? |

I'd guess it's the spirit of the same system, with a guy who used to play for the Devils coaching it. Maybe that somehow filters some of the stupidity out of it.
For me, the important thing is that if they have a good run, Nilsson gets to stay there and learn from it for the rest of the year. We don't need him here; I'd rather see them sign anyone to backup Poulin if Nabby gets hurt again. If they were worried about making the playoffs with the big club, they would have kept Strome here. |

When they are healthy and have the horses yes.. A lot more conservative when they were banged up but they are getting healthy now

Last practice I was at he stopped it and screamed at Lee and Strome saying those soft BS junior moves won't work in the Ahl let alone Nhl |

I like to hear this. Sounds much better than Cappy. Still does not mean I want him to be the next Isles coach. |
