So if you had to predict, do you think:

A. The Flyers make no moves and stay with the present lineup for the rest of the season

B. They make a small move before the deadline for a depth dman and/or an upgrade for the 4th line

C. They make a deal before the deadline for a top 4 mobile dman

Personally, I'm guessing B

Probably B, with C being the least likely. That's the kind of move that'd come in the offseason

I would go with B, then A, then C.

A player like Daley could be available. Which I'm not crazy about, but does that qualify as a top 4 mobile D man?

I'm guessing B, too. Homer's such a company man, even if his job was in danger, and the Flyers were in line to miss the PO's, I don't see him setting off any bombs for his successor to clean up.

After 2

Victoriaville - 0
Rimouski - 3

No points for Morin, looking decent tonight with his positioning and puck movement

All that leverage and all he managed to get was a $1M pay-cut and a 1-year term. Sounds like he needs a new agent, or next time get Helene St. James to tweet that he was offered a bigger deal.

- Tomahawk

Well it would help to know what the Red Wings were offering him before coming back and making him an offer that caused him to decide not to sign with the Flyers. All the signs were there that he wanted to be in Detroit.

What it is, is a choice. On whether they want to commit that amount of cap money to the player, or go in another direction.

I don't know, I guess it would depend on who is traded. If it's between him and Grossmann for the 2nd pair. I guess it would depend on what kind of player they want there. A mobile puck mover, or a physical stay at home guy. I wouldn't be real excited at a Daley/Streit pairing.

My guess would be they would pair him on the 2nd pair with Grossmann, I believe they were often used as partners in Dallas.

I'm sure holmgren always tells the media the absolute truth with nothing withheld when talking about players they weren't able to sign. I'm sure all the tweets in the twitterverse are 100% true as well. To use those things as an argument as to why or why not the flyers did something is meaningless IMO.

Example with carle. Maybe the flyers were willing to risk not resigning carle to go after the big fish and instead of telling the media he was a back up plan and then other deals fell through, he blames tagging space.

Anything could have happened but if the flyers wanted to resign him they could have made room. Their philosophy is spend to the cap and make tough decisions when get need to. It's not a miscalculation that they always end up with no cap space.

D. Give up because without weber they're doomed.

Honestly though I could see any happening in flyerdom

Daniel Cleary is going to Philadelphia Flyers for 3 years, AAV of $2.75 Million. NTC. Deal won't be official till end of month.

- Tomahawk

That would have been an absolute disaster of a contract. Cleary has a fork sticking out of his back.

According to Cleary and Holmgren, that contract offer was never made. And I agree, it wouldn't have been a good contract.

B for the trade deadline.

There's going to be moves made, but I can't see them doing a major move before the deadline.

Of course, there might be somebody willing to do something bigger or another GM that might feel heat if his team is underachieving. But while I do think they'll kick the tires, I just doubt they'll make a big move.

That said, with the draft being held in Philly...I expect a big move then.

If it means getting rid of Schenn and Couturier and 2 seconds, then yeah I'll be pissed.

How dare they, right?
