If it means getting rid of Schenn and Couturier and 2 seconds, then yeah I'll be pissed.

How dare they, right?

- Giroux_Is_God

i dont know if you guys will have to give up that much. but a trade similar to the listing posted earlier really should be made.

If were lucky we can rush both Morin and Ghost. Think about the Ghost - Morin bottom pairing.

Top 4 mobile defenseman won't cost that much. Trading Schenn & Couturier is more like top pair, legit number one defenseman.

Trevor Daly is a top 4 mobile defenseman. He likely won't be traded for that huge a haul.

yeah. i still think a brayden schenn for josi deal would be great for all involved.

I'd consider that for sure.

If they moved both Schenn & Couturier, it wouldn't be for a simple top 4 guy...the only way they'd move both would be for a legit top pair guy.

EDIT: Even an expanded deal where the Flyers added Luke Schenn to his brother and got Josi and a natural winger...not sure what Nashville has there, maybe Stalberg...

Yeah that wouldn't suck at all...I'd be trying to get a guy I could immediately slot into the top 9, though.

yeah. i dont even think its necessary to get a guy of webers caliber. a deal with a young guy with upside could be just what the doctor ordered, at a cost that allows depth to be retained. i think josi is perfect.

The Preds have bupkis to give when it comes to scorers. They have to save what little assets they have unless another point producing forward comes their way.

As it stands, the Schenn for Josi deal might be something that they'd be interested in, because they need Brayden as much as we need Josi. In fact, because of that, the Preds may be willing to part with a tiny bit more. Not much. Maybe a 3rd. After all, Schenn has a higher celing for what he does.

The only thing that concerns me is what could happen when you bring a guy like that in a sound system over into our...not as sound system. Perhaps his surroundings speak to some of his success. Maybe it just suits him.

Ofherwise, it certainly looks like its feasible.

I'm not totally opposed to trading BSchenn, but I think his point production and trade value is only going to grow. He only gets 16 minutes a game, compared to someone like JVR who gets almost 21 minutes and plays on the top line and the top PP unit.

Good point, if they are going to move B Schenn, it needs to be for more than just a Trevor Daley

you dont think that a deal of brayden schenn and voracek for weber makes the flyers a better team overall?
- stayinthefnnet

B Schenn and Voracek would be a very, very good start in a deal for Weber.

Also, Weber will not be a Flyer for several years, if ever.

I'm not interested in Josi. Schenn will become a far better player and we'd regret swapping the two.

If its not a bonified TOP PAIRING dman then stay away. But for the right top pairing guy, say Shea Weber, I'm packing Roo's bags.

Would you trade Roo for Chara? He's a "bonified TOP PAIRING dman."

Again, not gonna happen for a whole different variety of reasons than Nashville, but still, just asking.

No I wouldn't.... I said Id trade G for the 'right' top pairing dman, not 'any' top pairing dman. But truthfully i would trade him for Chara if we got much more back in return but that's unlikely. Because of their ages they are not on equal grounds IMO.

I'd trade Brayden Schenn for Josi. But I would not trade Giroux for Shea Weber. That doesn't make any sense to me. Fills one hole but creates another big hole. It's spinning wheels.

I would have to seriously consider it, only for 2 reasons:

1) We have way more offensive firepower, including 2 young promising centers, than we do top-pair defensemen.
2) Elite level defensemen are much harder to acquire than elite-level forwards

For those reasons alone, I'd consider it. However, being as Giroux is this team's captain and has been (when healthy) one of the top forwards in the game, I'd probably step away.

I probably would, because I think one hole is easier to fill than the other.

Not sure David Poile would agree with that statement.

It sure seems like that from a Flyers' perspective though, doesn't it?
