I could see the Oilers throwing this years 1st round pick to Anaheim for Hiller and the Ducks flipping the same first round pick to Buffalo for Miller. - NewfieStud
These kinds of things are why I stay out of here unless Im very bored. |

There going to have to throw a package including B. Schenn, Cotourier, Morin + to get the best all around defenseman in the league - Jammerz04
i think b.schenn, morin and a few #1 picks should get the job done |

Best all around D in the league?
I still rate him below Chara, and would rather have Keith or Doughty. I'm not so sure Suter wasn't a bit unsung when they were a pair either. Weber is great but I don't think he is the best All around D in the league. - Jeropotato
Shea Weber is 28 years old...no GM takes Chara over Weber right now. I would agree that Chara's current resume is better than Weber's, but he is also 8 years older.
As for the two others....give me a break.

What does age have to do with it? We are not talking about trade value, or who you build a team around. The comment was that Weber is the best all around D in the world. I disagree. |

All around, Chara is better than Weber right now. If both are UFAs rentals at the deadline, Chara is more sought after for the playoffs no? |

I would think so, if they were both UFA's, money was the same, etc. |

Put down the crack pipe. As noted earlier, Murray came out a month or so ago and stated that Hiller isn't going anywhere. BUT, if he was, it would take a heck of a lot more than a 1st. JMHO - ducks31
Not that I think Hiller is going anywhere, and I don't see Miller as much of an upgrade, but if Cory Schneider goes for a ninth overall, Hiller becoming UFA doesn't get the Oilers pick, which is going to be higher than that. |

I would really like to know what reality you need to live in to think that the Pens would make a deal for any defenseman at this point. Between the 8 that they have on their NHL roster (7 now that Letang is on IR) and what they've already seen in their half-dozen AHL guys that could possibly compete for a spot with 20-some odd other NHL teams but can't even crack the line-up in Pittsburgh due to their depth, I can't imagine a situation where they'd look to ADD a d-man without it being a swap. Their needs are in the bottom 6. Not the back-6. |

If Miller wants to be in Cali with his wife, he will sign there in the offseason...no reason to give up MULTIPLE assets to acquire him.
Plus, is Miller that much of an upgrade over Hiller this season? Especially considering the assets you would have to give up to get Miller? - BoBBeR56

Maybe they want to make a serious cup run with Selanne since this is his last year . - Maximum Signal
IF you consider Miller a major upgrade to Hiller. Buffalo fans do, just about everyone else says no to maybe a marginal upgrade

How many times have you watched him play ? The team in front of him as Brutal . It is a serious upgrade. The west is tough. That upgrade might just be the difference . It would be nice to Selanne go out with a cup. I think at this point he will go to Washington any ways with Holtby and a number 1 coming back. |

Miller is definitely a big upgrade over Hiller.
Hiller's in a group with Halak as a 2nd tier goalie.
Miller would kill it on a team like the Ducks.
Hiller if he were to be on the Sabres he'd probably have some of the worst stats possible IMO, unlike Miller. Who is currently playing out of his mind for Buffalo. - Jammerz04
I don't know if I agree...look at what Hiller is doing for the Swiss...is that because of the great Swiss defence?
Give Hiller some credit... |

Don't worry. Tomorrow, Ek is coming out with a rumor that the Pens are interested in a top 6 center. |

Would it be worth it if the Sabers allowed the Ducks to negotiate an extension before trading for him? |

Its an upgrade. Miller is really good and consistant. Hope he goes to the Blues.
When they beat Aneheim and goaltending was the dif. Just want to hear it was a mistake not acquiring Miller. |

Well, actually Swiss really has good defense. Berra let 1 goal in against Sweden. Don't think Hiller had it harder than him in any of the other games. |

The Swiss defense is no joke. They did the same thing in IIHF World Championships last year. |

A lot of Sabre fans at least on Hockey Buzz think Miller is the next coming of Hasik. Hes at the top of his game right now and is a s good as he will get.Theres no where to go but down from here so buyer beware.I think his trade value sucks unless your a desperate team looking for a rental goalie for the playoffs.I kinda question why someone whos good enough to be in the playoffs right now thinks their goaltending is bad enough to warrant losing their first round draft pick over.I fear what will happen is Miller will be moved in tandum with someone resignable like Moultson or Ott who Id really like to see stay. |

Center Ice package so quite a few times. Mainly b/c I play fantasy hockey and run 2 tv's side by side but I'm not claiming to be an expert. I was simply pointing out that outside of Buffalo fans, very few are touting Miller as an upgrade to Hiller. I don't see it personally as Hiller has played quite well out west also. Sure the team in front of him is quite good but that isn't exactly a resounding reason to qualify Miller as an upgrade. This isn't to take anything away from Miller, he's a helluva tender. But that doesn't mean he's an upgrade to another very good tender in Hiller. That's all I'm saying. Miller will go to StL or the Craps IMO

I'm just playin' I know the Swiss are decent, I just hate when people say a goalie is only good cause of his team, heard it about Tim Thomas forever until he won the cup.
Same can be said that Miller is better when faces a ton of shots, like some Goalies are, so if he plays for a better team him mental lapses could be more frequent getting 22-24 shots a game rather that 33-35

It's an upgrade...but a marginal one.
Rumours are that Buffalo wants top6F or top4D, prospects, draft picks, etc.
So Ducks would marginal upgrade their goaltending...but downground their top6 forwards or top4 defence by moving one... |
