They're never going to spend to the cap anyway so that's a non-issue. Big cap hits with lower actual salaries are exactly what small market teams want. - Jeffmt
i like weber, but not sure about that contract |

I could see the Oilers throwing this years 1st round pick to Anaheim for Hiller and the Ducks flipping the same first round pick to Buffalo for Miller. - NewfieStud
Wouldn't that be something...a Top 3 pick for the negotiating rights to an impending free agent. |

If Miller wants to be in Cali with his wife, he will sign there in the offseason...no reason to give up MULTIPLE assets to acquire him.
Plus, is Miller that much of an upgrade over Hiller this season? Especially considering the assets you would have to give up to get Miller? - BoBBeR56
No. Not to mention, Jonas is going to be a UFA after this season. The Oilers could just back the truck up and show Jonas the money this off-season. Giving up major assets to land Hiller just so the Oilers and MAYBE avoid DFL again is completely idiotic. I don't doubt that your "experts" are telling you this Ek, but do you consider the validity of this stuff before you throw it out there? |

Wish I knew who Holmgren has marked as the guy they REALLY want. Whoever that is, the Flyers almost always get who they want no matter who else is involved. If Daly is who they really want, he's a flyer! - twpguy

Give me one good reason the Penguins would be interested in Daley. Any reason just give me one. They have numerous quality D men. Why would they trade for another one Ek makes no sense sometimes What am I say Ek makes no sense all of the time I think he really thinks someone would hire him as a GM Right - holeinone
With Depres essentially ready to step in if Letang i out for the year and Bortuzzo being better then many thought I totally agree... but Shero needs to do his due diligence as gm

Put down the crack pipe. As noted earlier, Murray came out a month or so ago and stated that Hiller isn't going anywhere. BUT, if he was, it would take a heck of a lot more than a 1st. JMHO - ducks31

The really interesting thing about Weber is that he DOES NOT have a no trade clause in his contract. |

Hiller isn't going to land you a top 2 pick. He's like Crawford. An average goalie reaping the awards of one hell of team in front of him. If MacTavish does that he should be fired on the spot. |

There going to have to throw a package including B. Schenn, Cotourier, Morin + to get the best all around defenseman in the league |

The way I read it was that the Hawks are interested in both Cole and Jagr. - nated81

Miller is definitely a big upgrade over Hiller.
Hiller's in a group with Halak as a 2nd tier goalie.
Miller would kill it on a team like the Ducks.
Hiller if he were to be on the Sabres he'd probably have some of the worst stats possible IMO, unlike Miller. Who is currently playing out of his mind for Buffalo. |

Yeah but the upgrade from Hiller to Miller from the deadline to free agency is not worth that much in trade. |

Best all around D in the league?
I still rate him below Chara, and would rather have Keith or Doughty. I'm not so sure Suter wasn't a bit unsung when they were a pair either. Weber is great but I don't think he is the best All around D in the league. |

If they wanted them bad enough, they could make a few moves to open up some cap space. Jagr would be the easier one to fit in as his cap hit is only $2mill plus a performance bonus that would count against next years cap if he achieves it. |

anaheim has andersen and gibson why would they need ryan miller? unless they will trade hiller now, and acquire miller before the deadline |
