Well there it is. Barring some amazing turnaround, the US is leaving sans medal. Have seemed downright disinterested nigh on the entirety of the game thus far.

Kane just 1 for 11 for us in the s/o...so no surprise to see him struggle. He should shoot in the shootout...phuck the dekes. Just saw the 2nd try and he did shoot....hope he does that more...but hits the net

He still thinks he can get inches away from the goalie and still lift it past him.

This high-scoring offense has nothing in more than 6 periods.

Yep, good for him to medal in his last Olympics. Even without some of their top forward talent in Filppula and Koivu, Finland still finds a way to be ultra-competitive.

Insurance - against?

Handzus/Pirri not being able to take over 2C?

Not having a 2C?

At this point what better choice is there at 2C than Regin?

Is this LAST February???

This was the same concern and
how'd that work out?

This is now two posts in a row that you and Elbows are in agreement. I believe the world is off its axis....

It worked out because they got Handzus, who surprisingly worked out better than even they hoped - at 2C.

It worked out because Bickell was able to be a top-6 wing.

This year - ?????

Depends who you ask; Elbows says I'm a better option at 2C than Regin. I'm guessing that he's getting a close inspection at the practices before play resumes, and that he'll get a shot if they think he could help there. I don't think they're expecting Mark Messier at 2C, just a warm body who is defensively reliable. I don't know if Elbows' guy Regin will fit that bill, but I think we're going to find out.
- mohel

Don't include me in your reindeer games. Regin sucks and every game he play will highlight that fact. If he is the 2C this team is going nowhere. Every other center in the organization is a better option there then he is.

I'll be interested to see how Bickell does after the break - of all the Hawks I think he needed the rest the most.

I never thought they were insurance. They are both useless to a team in last place. Yeah, maybe they can help a Cup contender. Seems logical.

The Hawks will lose every game he plays. Funny. Then everyone will be blaming Kane.

Mil berry is right: Kane has to bounce back, can't let this carry over back in Chicago.

Leaf fans comparing him to Kane is a joke. Kane showed up. Did he produce? No. If anything, I think he was trying to do too much. Kessel didn't even show up in the big game.

Kane will be fine. There is a lot more to him than people realize. Milbury hasn't been right about anything, ever. I take it as a good sign.

I'm not sure who Kane has to play with: Regin? Handzus?

And on his other wing: Versteeg? Saad?

I busted up first line to give some help to Kane?

Q has his work cut out for him.

Could have used Bobby Ryan and Brandon Saad.
