1-0 and 60 goals sitting at home.

Ryan...
Saad....
Okoposo.....

Blake Wheeler?...wtf!!!

This... Plus I would have taken Yandle over most of the d-men on the roster. And Bylsma is probably the most overrated coach in hockey.

Meh. Hawks aren't going anywhere this season. I just hope they make it past the first round. Teams can't repeat anymore.
- Elbows15

My My , why so negative , Hawks have a decent chance to repeat , Canada vs USA, two very evenly matched teams , the main difference for me was Canada's outstanding defense. They have only allowed 3 goals in 4 games.

Wheeler, Brown, and Orpik shouldn't have been on their team, but it's irrelevant at this juncture. NHL hockey will be back by next week, thank goodness.

Thanks, Captain Positive! I think the Hawks have the best chance to repeat since Stevie-Y & the Wings in the late '90s.
- Tugboat

Their play the last month or so hasn't exactly been stellar. No third line. No one who can play with Kane effectively. We will see.

Also, 20 guys dress for every game, so room for an extra forward and defenceman. I'd have gone with Leddy as the 7th D-man dressed - would look good on the PP and late in a game if needing a goal. I would NOT want him to take a regular shift against the talent of Canada, but he'd have been a good specialist.

Only one team has repeated in the last 30 years. Odds are against them. Couple that with how made they have been playing. Doesn't look promising. Ducks, Pens, Blues, Aves are all deeper and better. Blues will add a goalie. Hawks need to hope that some of their young prospects develop.

Agreed Saint. Just a smothering effort by the Canadians - their forwards played awesome defense. They'd still be playing were it not for the softie let in by Quick (right Fivvy?).
- mohel

Crawford would have had it for sure.

As cynical as we fans can be, and as mercenary as the players can be, they do go hard/all out in these international tournaments - they really care without getting paid - such fun to watch.

This is why we like hockey.

Yandle > Leddy on the PP and everywhere else. Faulk over Yandle still makes no sense

3 Canadian refs in today's game. Fair enough.
