As for unfair - maybe - but do the math: five doesn't divide by three evenly - one team gets lucky - so what - you play who you're scheduled to play.

Don't demean their (possible - hasn't happened yet) championship - that's as bad as blaming the refs for a loss.

Yeah it is the first thing I thought too, that the two other teams were maybe entitled, but aren't the Olympic groupings supposed to be set up based on PAST Olympics?

The teams are re-seeded after the preliminary round. The 1 plays 8, 2 plays 7, etc. If all goes by seeding 2 plays 3 in the semis. The Swedes get the first seed and the Canadians the second. The US got the third because the earned one fewer point thanks to needing a shoot-out against the Russians.

So, why does Sweden get no credit for beating the Finns? The Finns beat the Russians (who took the US to a SO) and played Canada well (2-1 loss).

Us should ditch those crappy jerseys and change into the 60's replicas.

LA Kings (a team with no true superstar and little publicity or acknowledgement) jump on a chance to get Gretzky.

Colorado and Chicago have plenty of players and prospects already, that neither is going to get off task by a BOLD crazy big trade...Let alone both teams gonna decide to let all those guys go elsewhere...

So the value of Toews would have to be MORE than the value of mackinnon in the evaluation of MacKinnon by Colorado?

Anyone can be traded. The real carrot in my trade proposal was ROR. If you don;t think MacKinnon and ROR as you top 2 centers doesn't make you a yearly contender I don't know how else to explain it. You would also can a lot of cap flexibility.

I agree with that but only to a point. they were still by far superior to anyone else in the C Group, and I think that Finland had it a lot worse. They lost their top three centers, were thin at wing and D, yet pulled together and played hard and smart to get past Russia and get themselves into position to play for the medal rounds. if Finland had won that game and gotten into the gold round, I would say that it was well-deserved.

Sweden really still hasn't had to play any superstrong scary team, only three joke teams and an extremely weak Finland that only got as far as they did by playing beyond the level of their remaining individual talents.

Now, I just hope that Babcock doesn't turn into Babcock, Crosby doesn't turn into Crosby, and the Canadians don't suddenly decide to gel as a team today. if that happens we get to play for a bronze. whoop Dee Doo.
