Regin and PBJ are insurance? They must be what is known as substandard insurance. The kind you can only get after too many claims or tickets.

Here is my trade proposal. No way it ever happens but it would be a monster.

To Col. Toews, Bickell, And TT.

To Chi. MacKinnion, ROR or Stastny and a 1st.

Takes care of the 2C spot. and gives you a stud that is 6 years younger. ROR or PS would have to be resigned but I think you could get either cheaper and for shorter term than Toews. Also, clears up cap problems for a few years as Mackinnion is on his ELC.

Better than Richarding around with useless castoffs.

They aren't really ready to win now - with or without MacKinnon, with or without a Toews.

They're better off with an improving/developing/18 year old MacKinnon than a "maxed out" (your concept) Toews - when they're ready to win, MacKinnon is too.

They aren't really ready to win now - with or without MacKinnon, with or without a Toews.

They're better off with an improving/developing/18 year old MacKinnon than a "maxed out" (your concept) Toews - when they're ready to win, MacKinnon is too.

I have watched them - and I see a developing team not yet ready to beat Chicago, St. Louis, Annie, SJ.

But we do agree - they wouldn't do the trade - and I'm not sure I disagree with your "better players" comment: there is always someone bigger, stronger, faster, younger coming along.

But not as good as Toews today - but quite possibly in the future.

until Mackinnon...ROR etc win a play off series they can keep them.....nice young players .....but if you think trading Toews as he enters his prime peak years is smart....then I have ocean front property in Nebraska I can sell you.....Colorado is having a nice young season...and they have nice young players....who haven't accomplished anything........

The key is also getting a really good 2C in the deal too. You have more depth down the middle with size, speed and skill. Something the Hawks don't have coming. Both Stastny and ROR are young.

Toews is regressing. His last 3 playoffs have been average at best. He has 2 goals in the last 30 games. He isn't any better today than he was 3 years ago.
