According to this Illinois billboard, the stakes really are high for this upcoming semi-final...

That's worse than having the All Star Game determine home field advantage in the a World Series. |

Why does that make a difference?
It was a breakaway / clear path / whatever you want to call it.
What was the first penalty for - hitting the goalies pads? - StLBravesFan
Shouldn't have been a penalty at all. It was incidental contact. Knight never touched her. As she was moving over to the other side for a better angle, their skates touched and Wickenheiser dove. |

It's going to be a cold evening at Soldier Field on March 1st: forecast says high of 17, low of 10.
No precip.
Of course, that could change ten times by then. |

Per Sam Gagner's twitter he spent some time in Chicago this week. Visiting some buds in the city? Orrrrrr scouting the new town he may be moving to after the break?!?! Maybe looking for an apartment with his extra time off?!?! Let the speculation begin! |

Thought there was more of a push there - but maybe.
Feel worse for the losing women: at least the losing men's team(s) have leagues and championships to play for - women don't have anything until 2018.
I don't think. |

Hilarious sign...tough loss for the US women's team today. Gutwrenching would probably be closer. You have to think those players won't be letting this one go anytime soon.
Congrats to Canada's women's team...Meanwhile look forward to tomorrow's matchup. Should have been for the Gold, but leave it to the host country to frank up the tournament matchups. The other matchup should be an excellent game as well. |

There is a professional league in Canada and I think some of the women are still in college.
It was a terrible call. Knight never touched at all. Their skates hit. It was one in a series of misadventures for the officials. There were a couple of icings that were questionable leading to extended pressure.
The Canadian penalty. She blasted the American in the face. The make up call was brutal.
That being said, You need to close it out up 2 in the last 3 minutes. |

I have a hard time visualizing American victory
I'm praying for no Hawk injuries and a 6-5 USA win Toews with a Hatty and Sharpie pots 2 ....... |

Regin and PBJ are insurance? They must be what is known as substandard insurance. The kind you can only get after too many claims or tickets.
Here is my trade proposal. No way it ever happens but it would be a monster.
To Col. Toews, Bickell, And TT.
To Chi. MacKinnion, ROR or Stastny and a 1st.
Takes care of the 2C spot. and gives you a stud that is 6 years younger. ROR or PS would have to be resigned but I think you could get either cheaper and for shorter term than Toews. Also, clears up cap problems for a few years as Mackinnion is on his ELC.
Better than Richarding around with useless castoffs. |

Yeah , Toews hasn't scored 3 goals in his last 30 games. I doubt he get 3 in 1. Hope Canada get their ass shut out and Cindy makes a crucial turnover leading to the goal that starts the deluge. |

No, let the speculation end right now.
I can't see the Hawks moving out roster players to make room for Ganger's $4.8 million cap hit. Even after that, it could become a struggle to fit his cap hit in with Toews, Kane, Leddy, Kruger and Saad needing new deals while Ganger is still under contract. |

Open your mind. Think about it. MacKinnion is going to be better than Toews. Bigger, faster and tougher. |

Pass. Stay away from anyone from Edmonton. Plus, he isn't very good. |
