I loved the shots he gave Kessel last night. Kessel pooped his pants and skated back to the bench as quick as he could...which isn't really quick.

awkward silence as scooby doo realizes how lame retort was......

Sure, you can look at it that way. As a fan I truly wouldn't be satisfied until my team wins a Cup. Division titles and what not would only matter for home ice in the playoffs, I wouldn't cite them to cover up the fact that my team hasn't been able to win it all.
- BetterCallSaul

Were you around in '67? If so, great.

But you really can't say that was the same as winning now. It may as well have been the WHA. 6 teams compared to 30 now? I am sure it was just as hard to win back then than it is now.

Did you see the old fellas from the '64 team being honored.... Great nostalgia. The last time you guys won the cup, it was in the good old days. Beer was 10cents and you could get a steak for 25cents... Relevant?

I do not think a division title is the same as a Stanley cup, but how many teams did we have to beat to get a division title? Conference title? How many teams did you guys beat to get your Stanley cup?

These are silly arguments all around.

Gotta love Doug Gilmour.

The rest are nobody's.

Clark is Tortos Linden. A nice well above average player who was beloved by the organizations fans. But wasnt a star

- Bieksa#3

Linden was under-rated by Canucks fans.

As for Wendel, non-Leafs fans will never understand why Toronto loved him so much:

In an era when the team was a God-awful embarrassment, Wendel played every shift like he cared.

The owner didn't care. Half the team didn't care.

Wendel did. Every night.

That meant something to Leafs fans.

He was never a hall of famer.

But he certainly deserved his number to be honoured.

I wasn't, I was born in '88. I'm also not arguing with anyone, I'm just stating that I don't believe you can rest on the laurels of a division or conference win and say that makes your team successful. 1 winner, 29 losers.

Ahaha yeah Kessel is slow as poop. Burrows really made him hide in his shell.

10 years without a win, Leafs fans were acting like they won the Cup. not that any of them know what that feels like.
- Scooby_Doo

Your arrogance when the Canucks were winning was annoying. Now ---- it's just sad.

What's this, there first win against the Canucks in 13 tries?

Celebrate good times, come on!

- Beatle_john

Lol it's not so much the single win, it's more the appreciation that the canucks have hit rock bottom.

Bright future ahead for that franchise!

Well, not meaning to argue but if both teams haven't won in 40 years... then neither team really has anything to boast about.. neither team has any real success in the modern era.

hes definitely the best on the leafs, and i think right now since hes playing so well and the sedins are injured/not playing as well you could make that argument. sedins have obviously been better over the length of their careers but right now id take phil

Really have never liked these kinds of arguments... I remember when kids used to argue about who was better Jimmy Page or Keith Richards? And than someone would say a Jazz guy or a heavy metal guy. So arbitrary.

But if you want to say Phil is the best Leaf. okay, I guess.
