Nonuts - he's doing the same thing in Toronto as he did in Vancouver, riding on Burkes players he put together and getting all the credit for it.
How did Burke put it recently...."sometimes you set the table but someone else gets to eat on it".

Btw didn't that happen in Anaheim? |

If he's true to his word in just being patient with this core group and waiting for younger players to develop, we're in for a long ride. |

I take u as a fairly smart man lefty. But if u are taking what Gilles says in a interview as what are his true feelings then I am terribly wrong about you.
He should just open up and be honest. Name drop on every trade dissusion as well, right
I have no idea what management is thinking(or if they are) but I don't fbelieve anything they say |

Of course they're not gonna come out and say "well I think it's time to change out this core", he should just say nothing at all. Go about his business and do his job. I do believe he has a bit of Darryl Sutter in him though, which is bad for the franchise. He'll hang on for dear life because he's afraid to get burned like he has in the past. |

Its funny.
I think Gilles is having his dhand forced. A bottom 10 finish this yr combined with a bad start next yr gets him fired.
If he makes some deals and sells people on the rebuild he buys time.

Yup, he really needs to make a move (that's of value) to save himself at this point. |

He can say all he wants but if he doesn't break up the core then somebody else will. |

and if they can't then compliance buyouts are also an option. Dont think they are going to tear it down just yet though. |

I'm sure they'd waive for lots of places. Just not edm. City isn't to great and team is awful. - Bieksa#3
don't hate on the city. it's a weak diss.
besides, aren't u from somewhere in Ontario??
as far as an awful team......they should probably start getting used to it.. |

The same way every other gms trade players with NTC. Stops you from moving them to another weak team like Toronto or edm. But still lots of options |

We only have one "compliance" buyout left, regular buyouts are an option though. I think they make a move this summer or at the TDL. Team should look different next spring, hopefully! |

Yeah, but why move to a far inferior city to remain on a weak team? Both teams are going no where. Might as well say if I can't go to a decent team then I'll stay |

is that right? seems to be the case this year. and the oilers certainly need some insulation for those kids. but lets not forget the age of the core of the team.
going nowhere in the future is far from a fact.
what u hope and what will really happen could be two VERY different things.
we'll see |

Get over yourself. Until management in edm is gutted, nothing will change. That kool aid stained letter that 3/4 of the fans lapped up is proof of it |

Edler to the NYI or NYR - he needs a change of scenery.
Bieksa to the Flyers for Mezsaros, Laughton & a 1st. (for their playoff push)
Kesler to whomever for a big return.
See it's just that easy! |

Now now. I know that the bitter taste of losing is hard to take but it's not really Edmonton you hate. |
