For me, it isn't so much as that as any Leafs news is big news. For years when the Leafs were in the crapper, you could turn on sportsnet, tsn, or cbc and they would find some Leafs story to run. There is other things going on in the league and they would put on some Leaf fluff piece as if it was news.

The point that I'm trying to make is that the hate is just really misplaced. The gripes you guys are talking about are totally valid but they're media gripes. We take the heat for that though. Someone mentioned that we're front and center and, hence, the easiest targets and I guess I can understand that. It would just be nice if we could get happy about a regular season win without our thread filling up with people saying "Leafs fans acting like the won the Cup lolololol".

I sound like I'm whining right now, I know. Everyone here has to deal with trolling. You guys took your share of lumps tonight.

You are prolly right, it is a media and numbers thing. Just like I hate watching the local supper hour news and they have bs human interest stories from the states. Just because it is easy and free (or they have already paid a fee to the feed).

Game nights on sportsnet I often record the pregame, the game and then the sportsnet pacific at 10pm and the hockey central after.... they have the same trade tracker segment on for the pregame, 2nd intermission, sportsnet and again for hockeycentral. unbelievable. guys at the studio just press play and go for their smoke break or something.

You're a sensible poster with a solid logic. If everyone could be described as having those 2 qualities trolling would either be almost entirely eliminated or the troll posts would be entertaining enough to actually pay attention to.
