Chest & Lombardi, best of luck with quitting!!! The fellow who said identify the triggers was spot on. I smoked for 25 years like it was my job. Rothman Kings, 1-2 packs a day. I drank tea instead of coffee, no weed in the house, after work beers were 2 ( when I started hankering for a smoke) instead of 5 or 6, etc. I did it cold turkey and with pure stubborness and 12 years later I am still so thankful everyday.
Best of luck fellows!! - Marwood
I quit drinking and smoking years ago was saving 1000 a month. I started drinking again but maybe only two hundred a month now |

Terribly addictive habit, I wish anyone trying to stop smoking the best of luck. If you don't manage to quit, never stop trying!! - LeftCoaster
This . People who smoke don't realize they are paying hundreds each month to kill themselves |

I was looking at the draft eligible kids yesterday, work is boring me, there's a couple of mid round picks that I like. I also like Al MacInnis's kid as a project as a late first rounder or early second rounder. - LeftCoaster
Power forward who is tough would be nice |

Truthfully that is better. If we miss the PO I want a top 10 pick - VANTEL
Also, the new CBA rules mean every non-playoff team gets a weighted lottery ticket. Clearly, teams finishing bottom 5 have a much better shot than those who just miss the playoffs, but still a ticket is a ticket. this is why Gillis should be focussed even more on seeing if he can trade for 2015 #1 picks of teams that may be mid-to-low range bubble teams. Get as many McDavid lottery tickets in your hand as you can. |

Daniel and burrows should be LW and Jensen in the waiting.

Problem is though not many GMs trading first rounders go . In the last 5 years you can probably count them on your hands |

True, but if we're talking rebuild, might have to put more bait on the hook. I don't sense Gillis has it in him to get that done...I'm not pro-tanking (the oilers show why), rather see another way to finagle up the draft board. |

I want a top 5. Ekblad is far and away the best player but either of Bennett and Dal Colle would be fine. Even Reinhart |

Well if we keep playing in this funk a top 5 is very realistic |

I honestly think with this years troubles we finish just above the Flames in the standings.
Who do you trade Kesler too , with his limited choices? |

It takes two years, or more, to develop a player. You draft them now so they can enter the picture when those guys are heading out the door.
Shinkaruk is a LW'er I suppose, forgot about him. |

Exactly so that gives us a two year window that we don't need to draft at that spot, also you can pick that LHF in round two
I think a big power forward , sniper, puck mover forward or PMD is what we look for |

I have no idea why you believe the choices are limited. Obviously a few teams would be out but Kesler is gonna waanna play in the playoffs.

It's not even about death. We're all going to die someday and one thing or another is going to kill us. The point is, and should be, about quality of life while you're alive and how smoking can impact it. You can live a long life while smoking, but you'll be hard pressed to find many long term smokers living a worthwhile quality of life at an older age. The money spent shouldn't matter. People have the right to spend the money they earn on whatever they want. Savings, fancy car, habits, gambling, porn hell...anything they want.
It's really no different than a guy crushing 6-12 beers a day, or that guy pounding back Big Macs 5 days a week. etc... |

If we are trading with Minny I want Niño . 11goals 19 assists 139 hits and he is not playing first line . He plays with an edge and can put up points

We Ned a center in the deal no question about it. So Granlund is a must. Dumba although inconsistant has supreme upside. I'd take Nino rather then the 1st but not in place of either of the other guys |

Smoking speeds up death. If you take 1000 smokers and 1000 non smokers see the survival rate of living past 60. You will be surprised.
It is very common for people in their 50 s to be rushed to the hospital for angina or heart attack due to blocked arteries caused by tar build up . The doctor told me one in 3 victims do not survive the ambulance ride into the hospital and one in 100 people do not survive the operation angioplasty .
That was the doctors exact words to me the night I was rushed in.
Big Macs and drinking beer also have no side affects on second hand calories and second hand hangovers. Smoking can be just as deadly to others with second hand smoke. |
