Because it's a tired response to Rangers fans that has been beaten to death 3494283747 times over. We're not exactly in a position to be calling anyone out for not winning a cup in awhile. |

PMB and Regin really won't be doing much for the Hawks BUT... this is why they are great organization and shows they have a competent GM... The hawks are obviously gonna be going deep into the playoffs and they're just insuring depth on their team. A bottom six player could possibly go down, and they're obviously making sure there are no holes in their roster, even if it's a 4th line role. Even if these guys are a worst case scenario kind of deal, they have guys with nhl experience ready to step in. Smart move for the Hawks IMHO. It's what competent organizations do... |

Agree. Instead of relying on a kid, they now have guys with NHL experience out there who might at worst be able to play soundly in their own zone for 8 minutes a night. What a concept |

Good to free up roster spots but I think PMB could have gotten slightly more if they waited until the deadline. Nice moves by Chicago. They'll make good use of these guys. - therealagent

I'll buy this argument, but I'll say it again- one of these players couldn't make this team, and the other one was only still here because of the stupid rule about the AHL and the Olympics. Otherwise he also would have been in Bridgeport. These aren't 4th liners, they're not good enough to play on our 4th line. They were just contracts that were in the way of better players in the minors. This is the negative about a salary floor- I'm just glad we're at the point that we're going to have to start paying legitimate players that Wang won't have to pay garbage like these two anymore. |

Peter Regin is basically worthless. A lower-line center who has a career FO mark of 44%? Please. He's an AHL-caliber player. No way he stays with the Blackhawks.
PM Bouchard is a gamble. Used to be an effective player with the Wild back in the day but that was like ... seven years ago. If he's useless to the Islanders, he may as well be useless to the Blackhawks.
Only bright side is that the 'Hawks only pay half of the salaries. - TommyHawk
The Isles realized, and you soon will too, that Peter Regin is the definition of soft.
Peter Regin is so soft, marshmallows call him for advice. |

That was what I got- he'd get thrown to the ice, like Graham Chapman in "Life of Brian"....thwow him to the fwoor....stwike him very woughly. Bouchard luckily didn't have that problem- he just ran away. |

He probably needed two guys to stick in the "A". That or he needed two guys to pick the pucks up after practice. |

you do? PMB was placed on waiver and no one put a claim in for him. Sadly while he once had great skill, he's damaged goods and can no longer produce at the NHL level. Plus, like Regin, he's a pending UFA.
I think if we were talking about the beginning of the season, you might get a 4th rounder for PMB alone and future considerations for Regin, but given the events of the season, this seems like fair value.
Ultimately this is Snow's admission that his offseason SUCKED. |

PMB is a pretty good player. Hawks will bring it out of him. Regin showed some flash's. This is just a depth move for the run to the finals. - poisondhearts37
I have never seen a professional hockey player miss open nets like PMB. He stinks and I can't believe there were able to move him... at all let alone get a pick. paying 1/2 the salary of these bums means Garth just saved 1.3 mill he should never have spent to begin with...

Another person who clearly has no idea what he is talking about with regards to the Islanders. You think a guy who stunk this season.. and has done nothing for over a month in the AHL would have gotten "slightly more" at the deadline huh..

This is a horrible trade for Chicago.. and somehow u are still ranting on Garth. Garth just dumped 2 guys no one on here would think we could get rid of.. dumped them for a 4th round pick.. It's a slam dunk. Chicago will not have either of these guys playing after 3 games. |
