You had my hopes up when I read "Islanders Transaction"
Why on earth are they doing this...let the kid get another 3 weeks of vacay!

Here's the other little nasty truth that I think most of us can agree on. As good as Vanek is, he's not worth anything close to 7 years $62 million. He's a damn fine player with great skill and reportedly a good guy, but I just don't see that price going with his overall game. That said, he IS worth that to us, since we can't seem to get anyone else to give us a look. So when it comes to free agency time, I think he might be surprised at just how low some of the offers are.

I get what you're saying in that there's always a team that springs up with stupid money, but in this case...I think we're that team

It also leads me to believe, his choice is completely about location and Minnesota is his dream. In the even it falls through, we'll see just how truthful his positive comments were about this team.

Of course they will... they are f'in stupid. I dojnt care how ready he is.. I dont care how cleared the doctor says he is... its 1 game then a 3 week rest... he has missed about a month already.. which means it was serious to begin with.... why risk an injury when you could have him heal for a solid 2 months & be ready after the break??
