I've also seen many posts saying he should have been in the Habs top4, and that Therrien wasn't using him properly, on here and over at HF boards.

But they only gave up Weise to get him, so expectations are very low...

I think there's a difference in giving a "I don't want to show my hand" answer versus what we did hear, which was "No, I'm not changing my mind and will not ask to waive any NTCs".

I'm not saying the local media should act as a GM's truth serum but he's digging himself a hole by iterating so clearly that won't ask his players to waive unless they ask first.

My honest hope is that he's not around here long enough to break his word.

He was used a lot early in the season but struggled in December, didn't see much ice after that. Even though the Habs are weak on the right side on D, he was getting benched. Not a bad player but with a healthy D core, they had no space for him, not with Beaulieu coming up and playing pretty well.
