I think just a pick will land Parenteau. Especially considering they only wanted Bourque in return for him from Montreal. - Chest Rockwell
Thought there was no deal because they were only offering Bourque?
Would a 3rd do it? |

I'd be fine with a third. That's not too much to give up for a player who is under contract for two more years after this.
I will say this though, ideally we trade David Booth for him. Fairly equal contracts, both players get a change of scenario, we get a playmaking winger for Kesler, and David Booth and the State of Colorado get each other.
If MG could pull this off he would totally redeem himself for the original Booth trade. |

I'd do Booth + 3rd(even a 2nd since this is a weak draft) for Parenteau for sure. |

It almost make too much sense when you actually think about it, especially if we sweeten the pot with a 3rd or 4th round pick THIS year.
Colorado gets out of a contract that they don't like a year earlier, we get a playmaking top 6 forward who could help Kesler (please sweet 10lbs newborn baby Jesus, let them generate chemistry should this go down) and David Booth goes to environment when he can relax and relate to the fan base. |

Somebody over on HF suggested offer-sheeting Ryan Johansen to a $7million contract.
Claimed the compensation is just a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks, but I'm not sure if that's accurate, off the top of my head. But they do have those picks in the 2014 draft.
I'd give those picks up in a heartbeat for Johansen.
But CLB would likely match.
Interesting suggestion, though. |

Even if the Canucks ate some salary or threw in some cash it would be worth it considering they would not be buying him out.
Gillis has to be looking into something like this. |

It sounds like a lot of money. I guess you are basically drafting one player who's just coming into his own. And getting the player you want.
What are the chances of drafting one top 6 player with those 3 picks? Not great if you are the Canucks. |

Yeah, the money is steep. Definitely makes it a risk.
Johansen is looking to be a top-line player soon, though, and is still young.
CLB would match, especially since they have Gaborik coming off the books.
Purely just BS for poops and giggles...

Of the last 10 games him and Kassian have been our best forwards for action . Higgins is going to be our top scorer , how sad is that - VANTEL

I buy the bit about big power forwards needing more time to develop their offensive game but there is no way a young power forward should need time to learn how to throw hits.... its something he should have used over the years at all levels.... but had a rep of it only showing up once in a while. Also, when a power forward is struggling to get points, shouldnt he be covering his ass with the physical play at least? That has to frustrate coaches. It frustrates me. Kassian is not physical. Its his 3rd season here... in parts at least. I barely ever see him playing the body. He gets pissed off and plays the intimidation part.... not sure anyone buys it tho..... he's actually one of the softest "power forwards" I can think of to be honest.

Truth bomb dropped!
I also didn't like the team asking him to drop weight, I bet part of them teaching him to be more responsible defensively is to tell him not to go out of his way to throw a big hit and take himself out of the play. That's just me speculating though as apparently they do a lot of video work with him. He had 110 hits in 56 games as a Canuck before this season, a full season pace of 161 hits. This year he has 65 in 52 games, that's a 102 full season hit pace.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I believe that the weight loss and coaching has something to do with this. |

Identify your triggers and avoid/remove them all for a month.
Smoke when you drink? Don't drink.
Smoke around certain people? Don't see them for a bit.
Smoke in certain places? Don't go there.
Smoke during breaks? Take your breaks at different times.
It sounds crazy, but what most people fail to consider or forget is that there's more to quitting smoking than just the cigarettes. Some habits feed or enable others.
I smoked for nearly 10 years and at my worst I was going through two packs of Benson & Hedges a day (strong butts). I tried everything and this is what finally worked.
Commit to it.
Good luck, Dude. - As_I_See_It

Yes, in Vancouver the window is closed and in Calgary the vacuum is on and in Edmonton the dog is howling at the moon and in Winnipeg Leon is getting larger. I picked a bad day to quit cigs. - A_SteamingLombardi

How many hits did Burrows Higgins and Sedin have in that same time frame.
If the rest of the top six is playing soft , then you will more than likely play soft also. You get him line mates that crash and bang ,he will probably follow lead
