I know we all think Edler will get us some stud top 6 fwd but I evaluated elders stats and a random D man over the last 5 years. Both are puck moving D men with offensive upside as you can see with the points. Edler plays for a presidents trophy winning team that always scores more than it gives up and the other guy is...........................

If it was erhoff you were comparing I would agree, but Edler also hits ( playoffs...sometimes).

For all the grief Edler gets over his D, he's still better than Liles.

Also hits way more, blocks way more shots, and is younger.
