By the way, have you guys heard the southern US GM's(Tallon and Rutherford recently) when they get interviewed by Hockey Central at noon? Those guys don't even give a poop, they'll openly say that they'll listen to offers for certain players and will be either buying/selling(even giving specifics of what type of player they want, 3rd line RW etc.). I guess they can get away with it since they probably won't have thousands of fans calling for their heads if they fail to deliver.

A lot of that goes directly to Mike Gillis's personality, my perception is he's an arrogant d!ckhead, which is fine if he gets the job done.

Markov also had a few bad years riddled with injury—is his value based entirely on those?

And Edler's revelation about his injury is akin to me claiming my knee would never be the same after I hurt it at 21—I'm not a doctor, and neither is Edler, so it's all speculation on his part.

My knee bothered me for a bit, but after a few years it was as good as new...

Might not be the same story with Edler, but he's not a doctor...

..

My intention hasn't been to run down Edler. When I say he's redundant to Montreal it's because they already have two puck moving offensive defensemen in their top 4. As such there isn't a hole that needs to be filled with Edler. On the flip side Montreal's offence has struggled as badly as Vancouver's. Trading Pacioretty for Edler would create a huge hole on the offence and not really fill a need that isn't already being filled on the defence.

Yeah, I don't really care if the GM is a nice guy or cocky/arrogant at all. Just get the job done. Just found it funny listening to those 2 guys, fans in Vancouver would lose their minds with trade proposals and the media would be all over the locker room if Gillis was that open/specific as a Tallon/Rutherford.

Spector just said on twitter that Bozak > Gagner

I can't get into work today

- LeftCoaster

Watching Bozak as much as I have this year - I'd easily take him over Gagner. He's playing well on both sides of the ice right now and is better on the faceoff.

Yeah, no way in hell does Montreal even consider that move. Price, Pacioretty, Subban, Galchenyuk, etc should be building blocks for that franchise.

Company president's/CEO's and player agents usually are. Role that into one and you have GMMG.

We'll see if he can keep it up, but yeah this year he has been a really good player for them.

Exactly. You can probably add Gallagher to that list as well.

That 2010 draft has hurt both the Canucks and Comets, as those are the prospects you'd be expecting to carry the AHL team and supplementing the NHL club.

Good news is Jensen and Grenier are developing some good chemistry.

Have been great the last handful of games.

Grenier used to be listed as a C/W, but as far as I've seen he hasn't played C at the pro level.

That's one of the reasons I maintain selling off some assets to close that gap is a good idea.

To be fair, I think most humans on this earth would eventually come across as flippant d!ckheads when having to deal with media in this city day in and day out.

Yup - no argument from me there. I was just laughing because Spector is trolling the Oiler fans.

Wasn't Tallon calling out that there would be a massive clear out a few months back? Switch coaches, play a bit better, and all the chatter goes away.

I know they don't have Vegas lines on trade rumors but if they did and you bet against every rumor, you'd be a wealthy man indeed.

Yeah, I'd love to target a few young guys that have already played in the NHL, have the draft pedigree, and shown flashes of their ability at this level. Much lower risk than hoping junior players or picks pan out, since even the most promising guys(Gilbert Brule) sometimes don't work out.

As an example only!!! Something along the lines of Brock Nelson for Alex Edler. Fills a need for both clubs.

Was n the oilers thread the other day. They were saying Brule has severe depression problems dating back to before the draft. A couple guys were pretty detailed about it, leading me to believe there is some truth there. Can't believe a team would pick a guy that high with those kinds of problems

Henrik Sedin will not play the next two games, Hamhuis is out tonight, but Richardson and Higgins are in. #Canucks

It is good to see Henrik sit, wondering if Henrik and Hamhuis will leave for the Olympics early like Chara? May as well if they are both day to day nursing injuries- weren't doing much anyway.

Thought one of the Islanders posters yesterday was saying they hoped he would be traded- gives the puck away too much and bone headed plays... Gillis- sign him!

I'm sure they just can't wait to leave their million dollar homes a few days early for the kids sized beds in Russia.
